It's such a PR win. Kids of hometown heroes + prospects. Not wanting to take Roch is the definition of the "my steak is too tender and my lobster too buttery" meme. A ton of people seem to assume 1) Emerson will magically turn into a CF 2) Colson, Meidroth, Vargas and Murakami are all locked in here for the next decade. Let's remember that the Sox took Colson when they had an All-Star SS.

I also think the fact that it's been Roch vs. LeBron, Roch vs. Emerson, Roch vs. Lackey, Roch vs. etc. all year instead of the field against each other is indicative of his status.
