  1. Bro just said he would rather watch Jose Contreras bat .094 than win the World Series
  2. Think about how magical the strategy behind Mark Buehrle's home run was. It'd be worth never having Paulie in a Sox uniform.
  3. I always love when people are like "I'll take one Bartolo Colon home run" vs. "Albert Pujols joining the 700 club during a magical final season with the Cardinals."
  4. And Cy Young and Ed Walsh thought that they were weak bitches. Times change.
  5. Tyler Osik told the org that Sean Burke likes to play too much Settlers of Catan. Actual guess: He's gassed.
  6. It looks like the Lenyn Sosa of air fryers: Versatile (maybe?) with power
  7. Frank Thomas Paul Konerko Jose Abreu Andrew Vaughn Lenyn Sosa
  8. Also if there's one thing MLB should learn from this — and stuff like the Moon Mammoths / Copa nights in the minor leagues — is that they should be ok with having fun. Obviously don't go full bombastic and let it affect the field, but getting crowds pumped with genuinely fun interludes / characters could bring in fans. Jesse Cole is a great MC. The King at Brooklyn Cyclones games brings it every inning. As for the moon mammoths / Copa: We saw how successful Mexican Heritage night was. Now imagine if the Sox played in Las Medias Blancas jerseys or American Giant jerseys for a game or two each year. The Winston-Salem Italian Beef is so corny but would be a fun Sunday jersey. Nike of all companies should be on this, but they for some reason are restricting teams to five jerseys — and we haven't even seen the Southsides, unless I'm forgetting them
  9. Considering the other dudes are practicing their moves like crazy, I'd say that this is the ultimate trick move.
  10. Chuck suggested Ozzie on the post game last night and Ozzie looked like he saw 10,000 ghosts at once.
  11. Hansen was in the 50s once upon a time.
  12. Can also not understate the disaster that was the Cease trade, unless that trio of prospects magically turns it around.
  13. Honestly, makes Sosa's ability to struggle then succeed at every level more impressive to me. I forget who said it's on the board, but I think this team bought into themselves after Sale (over a decade ago), Crochet and an unproven Schultz that they could ball out with power lefties that have funky deliveries. Hubris still runs deep.
  14. Lmao, this is still up on Pipeline.
  15. Getz is promoted to double secret probation for one season.
  16. Folks, I think it's time to ask ourselves: Was Vaughn capable of being the best Sox first baseman since Frank? I worship Paulie and Abreu, but in Milwaukee, Vaughn's bat is showing a lot of OOMPH. It makes me question if the Sox can develop OOMPH (a better indicator than WAR). I think they should trade back for him. Maybe give the Brewers that struggling lefty they drafted.
  17. Game should be over and now they need to switch pitchers.
  18. Quin replied to BamaDoc's topic in FutureSox Board
Lmao this is one of the best clips all year
  19. I was on the phone with my dad, who was watching in Arizona and his feed was slightly ahead. I told him to try and not spoil it. I remember hearing him beginning to sound excited while TA was taking pitches on my screen and I went "I'm guessing he hit a walk off? He replied "HOW DO YOU KNOW???" One second later it was on my TV and god do I miss the vibes of that game.
  20. Damn sounds like it's time to drop Stephen A. Smith
  21. TA was in the cusp of superstardom following the WBC until that last injury. Dude was mad marketable and the Sox win percentage when played vs. didn't was crazy.
  22. "We all saw what happened when Colson got his torpedo bat — " Colson proceeds to launch.
  23. 1) Man, some good depth now. In years past, I'd have expected bullpen guys like Pallette or Franklin and injured guys like Saucke to crack the backend of the 30. 2) Hell yeah, Hype Hens jersey.
  24. I've seen him talk and laugh with Vargas a good chunk this year, but if he's going along with Colson trying to create a handshake, I see this as a good sign.
