I think that’s insulting to Nick Kurtz

I’m thinking of it like this, you’re drafting an elite, game changing bat (that just happens to play first base), not a first baseman per se. The comp on him is Yordan Alvarez. You’d take him 1-1. Yeah, he may not offer much positional value (although he can play the OF too) but he has the makings of a superstar at the plate. Plus, he does all the things the Sox are bad at an elite level for a college player. I’m talking not just bat to ball skills and power but swing decisions and pitch recognition.

I'm very curious to see how ND handles Gerad Parker and if the school admin will finally allow Marcus Freeman to hire who he wants. They balked at the buyout of the guy he wanted prior to this season. If they had a better OC, they're probably knocking on the door of being a playoff team.

Get the top pick and draft Nick Kurtz. That will solve a lot.

Bummer to ATL
Getz might be good at this after all.

Who do you want or think will replace Benetti?
The Sox are very lucky that Bennetti didn’t sue them and Brooks Boyer.

Who do you want or think will replace Benetti?
Connor McKnight is who I’m pulling for.

Full ML Coaching Staff Announced
This would be a really solid start imo if they had a different manager and maybe a different bench coach.

Craig Counsell
I think he’s going to be a good manager. He’s in the perfect spot.

Craig Counsell
He might’ve been a scapegoat but the Giants fired Kapler, a winning manager. The Cubs just fired David Ross, a winning manager. The Mets fired Buck Showalter, a winning manager. And the Sox won’t fire Grifol. Make it make sense.

It may be lip service but Pole's backing of Eberflus is very concerning. The refusal to acknowledge that there is a culture issue is maddening. Pole hired Eberflus and he signed off on all the assistant coaches that were brought on. Poles also continues to burn draft capital and doesn't want to retain good, young players. He has to go.

Seems like a missed opportunity
I was all for Abrams back then. The Sox desperately need athletes and up the middle guys in their system. That was true then, it’s true now.

Seems like a missed opportunity
Ever since Courtney Hawkins they have kinda neglected OFers in the draft. Which is a huge reason why RF has continued to be a long term black hole for them.

Seems like a missed opportunity
I don’t know about that since that was a mid round pick. The Sox had the fourth and third overall picks in both 2018 and 2019 respectively, and they bombed both picks. Missing on the 15th overall pick is more understandable.

Seems like a missed opportunity
I just don’t think Vaughn is very good but I do agree with this and I’ve been saying it for some time, the 2018 and the 2019 drafts are a big reason why the Sox are in the position they find themselves in now.

Matt Wise new Sox bullpen coach
I’m sure the Angels bad track record of drafting and signing pitchers didn’t help, not a lot of quality arms in the system but I’m sure that this was approved by Brian Bannister, which is good enough for me. Plus it’s an external hire.

https://youtu.be/hfwzqnhlpKo?si=HwzB4ZX-zVjosqsB I hope this guy falls to the Sox. Yes, it’s not a premium position guy but he can do three premium things. He can hit, he can get on base and he can hit the ball out of the park with regularity.

Garfien latest podcast 10/17...
I really hope the Sox take a page from the Cubs and focus on defense and game calling when it comes to the catching position going forward. The Cubs signed both Yan Gomes and Tucker Barnhart for a very good defensive catching platoon. This method is a good way to help develop young pitchers. It’s cost friendly as I don’t think a team should spend big money on C’s unless it’s a superstar type player (Posey, Realmuto) or a home grown star (Sal Perez). I think it’s also a good way to steal wins as it also helps a team’s defense. With that being I hope the Sox sign Victor Caratini and Austin Hedges.

MLB Trade Rumors - Chicago White Sox Offseason Outlook - by Tim Dierkes
I doubt they will but championships make teams do stupid things. Look at the Cubs trading both Gleyber and Eloy for Chapman and Quintana.

My dream scenario is that the Rangers get desperate for a ring/another ring, and they trade the Sox Wyatt Langford in exchange for Cease and pieces.

More "Changes" to sox staff
I think the Gene Watson hire, means that Hostetler is out. Especially with the way that Reinsdorf spoke about him during his presser.

I couldn't agree more. If they don't build out the trenches and add some weapons, the next QB they bring in will suffer the same fate as Fields. I am also shocked that Pace has really ignored the trenches on both sides of the ball, especially with him being a former OL.

Gabe Kapler
Ricky was fired and Hahn was probably going to hire AJ Hinch

Gabe Kapler
Why would the more accomplished Kapler, take a back seat to Grifol?
