Kimbrel and Vaughn for Aaron Nola…would anyone do it? Nola coming off a down year and there was talk at 1 point of the Phillies using Nola to improve the rest of the team

Call me crazy, but I don’t think we need as much offensive upgrades as people are saying. A full season of Robert, Eloy and Yaz will have a gigantic impact. Sheets and Vaughn should only get better and there’s a decent shot Burger can be a useful utility guy. Something like Eddie Rosario and Eduardo Escobar would be more than enough to make me happy with the offense of this team.

The Phillies are in an interesting spot for a Kimbrel trade. Rhys Hoskins is awful at 1B and their recent 1st round pick Alex Bohm can’t play 3B. Phillies also have a bad bullpen and no definite closer….Hoskins for Kimbrel? Puts a big LH bat in the middle of our order. DH only though. Of course if universal DH is adopted is could easy make the Phillies a lot less interested.

My prediction: Everyone is heart broken. Again. Canha, Villar, and a mediocre RP will be the free agent haul

Can I figure out how to sneak looks on my phone a few times at work? Sure. But is that really how I want to watch my team play after I invested countless hours of regular season games to get to this point? Fuck no.

Aside from Kimbrel’s wild pitch the biggest mistake of this game was pitching to Vladdy 3-0. The manager needs to be aware of the situation and make the call. Should have also been obvious to the pitching coach and catcher, but just awful decision overall that starts at the top.

This kinda hurts…but also exciting at the same time. Even tho he’s a limited player, Nicky is going to be great at the things he does well. Just a matter of how much value he ends up having and if he ever develops any semblance of power.

Someone probably has, but I don’t feel like looking at 10 pages…has anyone else pointed out his .256 BABIP compared to his career .330? It’s not a sexy move, but it fills a hole and we gave up little to nothing. Hernandez at 2B, Luery back in a bench utility role, and Mendick back in AAA definitely makes a better team….even if it’s not a whole lot.

I know reinforcements are coming and we are still in 1st…BUT Hahn sitting on his hands is going to be a huge mistake. Not even in a panicky way because of resent games, sheerly because this team has about as good of a shot as anyone to win a World Series. If the price is relatively low it’s gonna hurt a little. Obviously there are other fish in the sea tho, so not overreacting too much yet.

I know not a huge needle mover, but a guy I think would be a very good fit for the Sox is Brad Miller. LH bat with some pop and can play almost any position. If/when the Phillies sell he shouldn’t be a particularly expensive to trade for either (Not sure if Miller has been mentioned yet or not)

The K’s are obviously concerning, but Fabian is very enticing. Could be an above average defensive CF with 20/20 potential…or he never improves his hit tool and doesn’t make it to the bigs. Im no scout, but his swing and bat speed both actually look pretty good. Looks like he needs to cut down his leg kick and work on his balance though (I’m also by no means a scout/expert) Tyler Black has a pretty compact LH swing that I can see producing more power as he gets older…swing reminds me a lot of Chase Utley. 2B being his primary position is not ideal, but just really like watching this kid hit.
