  1. This seems about appropriate for the Sox
  2. Show your books or shut up…that’s where I’m at with these owners crying poor. I don’t expect every team to be the Dodgers, but I’ll never believe these teams can’t turn a healthy profit spending $120+M on the roster
  3. Very little MLB talent to trade, a bad farm system (arguably Getz’s own doing), and new asinine draft lottery rules…trying to rebuild that is going to be a long difficult road for anyone. Reality is that if at least 2 legit free agent hitters aren’t signed at some point and the payroll doesn’t get back up to $160+M I don’t see how Getz could possibly dig out of this hole in less than 5 years. And I’m not even trying to defend Getz. I never thought he should have gotten the job to begin with. Just important to acknowledge how dire the situation really is.
  4. Crazy how 1 second you’re discussing trading for a top prospect and then you blink and he’s being signed as a 30 year old minor league free agent.
  5. Sosa, Vargas and Ramos should be given every opportunity to play before a guy like Rojas. Hopefully it will play out that way
  6. I get that, but at the end of the day aren’t the guys he will be sharing a locker room with day in and day out going to determine that level of comfort? The whole not wanting players thing at his meetings thing throws me off a bit. But now that I’m looking at the list of teams in the last article posted I guess it’s not all that weird. And my original post was for sure worded poorly, idiot was too harsh of a word. He for sure should take whatever time and process he wants. Just doesn’t seem like he’s going the typical route is what I was getting at
  7. I can’t tell if this kid is very smart or a complete idiot. Very odd how he’s gone about this whole process. Pretty obvious it’s not about the $, so I wonder what the main sticking point is for him?
  8. Vargas sure, why not Fletcher should have to earn his playing time. There’s still a small part of me that would rather see Colas honestly. And not like Fletcher has significantly better pedigree than DeLoach either. Hopefully 1 of those 3 can step up and earn playing time in RF and we don’t see too much of Tauchman and Slater
  9. The Orioles obsession is getting a little weird…
  10. I think the Sox will be a MUCH more respectable organization and get their act together this coming year…. 55 wins for the over
  11. Mehh sounds like it’s a behind the scenes role doesn’t it? I don’t doubt that Nevin is capable of identifying talent…just as long he’s not the guy being hands on teaching his style of baseball to them.
  12. Damn apparently Cleveland is that hard up for cash that they’re trading Naylor for a draft pick? Also, how the hell did the Yankees not beat this offer instead of signing 37 year old Goldschmidt?
  13. Apples to oranges. Our payroll is so low that Robert’s contract isn’t hindering a single thing. And our roster is so bad that adding prospects that don’t have the potential to make a big impact is almost meaningless. We shouldn’t be looking to move Robert to save money and potentially get slightly closer to mediocre.
  14. REALLY hot take- Benintendi hits something close to .270/.350/.410 and is tradeable (with some $ added) at the deadline for a decent prospect
  15. Is Busch a 1B/DH only nowadays? I was assuming the Cubs would try to get away with him at 2B with Bellinger at 1B. No idea how the D would work out, but would for sure have given them 1 hell of a lineup
  16. Not sure what site you’re using, but I feel like that might be outdated. Abel doesn’t have quite the shine he once did, especially after really struggling in AAA last year.
  17. Thanks, just what I’m trying to do. What’s your issue with that trade?
  18. Phillies need a CF A’s looking for a 3B Some sort of Robert to Phillies and Bohm to A’s 3 team? Starlyn Caba, Mick Abel, Max Muncy, and Denzel Clarke for Robert?
  19. Long route and 6 prospects later for the Cubs to get Tucker. If they don’t extend him it will look pretty ugly down the line
  20. Which would you choose if all 3 were on the table? Reds- Cam Collier, Chase Petty, Carlos Jorge Yankees- Roderick Arias, Chase Hampton, Everson Pereira Phillies- Justin Crawford, Jean Cabrera, Aaron Escobar
  21. The willingness to be content with known junk like Tauchman and Slater instead of taking a shot on younger players is crazy to me. You just broke the record for losses and are on target to do it again, go crazy and throw players at the wall and see who sticks. There’s nothing left to lose at this point.
  22. I generally think we should hold Robert, but the Yankees make a ton of sense for a Robert trade now. They need to do something to make up for losing Soto and Getz might be able to take advantage of a somewhat desperate Yankees team. No idea if he’d be on the table, but Arias is a pretty good start to a Robert package.
  23. Would have preferred Mayer obviously, but Teel, Montgomery, Meidroth, and González is actually pretty damn good.
  24. The only reason to trade Robert for anything less than a great package of prospects is because Jerry is a cheap a-hole. Hold him and hope for a turnaround, his stock can’t possibly go lower anyway.
  25. It goes under the radar because very few people actually care about the MLB draft, but the lottery system they’ve put in place has to be 1 of the dumber things in all of sports. Establish a salary cap floor and fine owners for being non competitive for too long if you truly care. Instead they just made it harder for the team to get better. Jerry is probably happy he saves $ not having to pay the #1 pick. He doesn’t give a damn where the team drafts, the rule is meaningless to him and the handful of other terrible owners.
