If this means Skubal will leave after 2026, I’ll take this trade off from the Sox perspective. Valdez is good but he’s definitely not on Skubal’s level.

Showing up his catcher cost him millions. Teams are probably staying away from him just because of that one incident.

Spring training is coming up fast and a lot of SP’s are still available. Given that the Sox can promise whoever they sign a rotation spot, I wonder if that could help them land someone. Similar to how Hays signed here because he can get everyday at-bats.

Sosa for a pitcher seems like a potential trade route. Problem is I’m not sure how much value Sosa actually has.

Given how the Robert trade played out, I’m skeptical that they would actually ever do this.

Like this signing a lot. Adds a much needed player to raise the floor of the OF, particularly against LHP. Go get a SP now.

I don’t know man, unless Boston is willing to include a really good prospect for the Sox to take Hicks, I’d rather just sign one of the free agents.

Boston better be eating a lot of the contract or sending a prospect with him because he was awful last year and still has 2/25 left on his contract. Funny enough, I’m pretty sure the Sox had Drohan at one point but gave him back to Boston.

Hicks or Sandoval would be gross. Neither of them have any upside at all.

If they think Antonacci will be better in the long term, I wouldn’t be devastated if they traded Meidroth for the right return. I could see a scenario where he becomes a utility player on this team sooner rather than later.

Would be a nice add for sure. He’s also durable which is what they need.
