Stone seems to have an issue with certain players and favors others. That is his prerogative as a sports color commentator. He is also entitled to verbosity and redundancy and occasionally being wrong. I have always viewed him as someone who wishes he stayed with the Cubs and maybe still wants to go back there unless of course he decides to retire. I have some doubts that he would even want to announce for the WSox next season. I think he will be part of some major changes to the franchise that JR will make beyond just TLR
  3. TA was off Sunday, Monday and Tuesday because of the suspension so going home to be with his family makes all the sense. Who posts this garbage?
  4. Rick Hahn has said for YEARS that he expects "multiple championships". LOL. Only a fool would have believed that knowing, for example , that the Cubs went over 100 years without winning once and the Sox have only won once in over 100 years. Without a salary cap and other equalizing factors in mlb, some teams will be lucky to win once in your lifetime. That isn't the fault of any one owner or franchise. It is the reality of the league as it is now structured and the complicated, unfair rules that favor certain franchises. Inflated, long term player contracts are just part of the problem. We got lucky once and the Cubs got lucky once in this century and that may not happen again for a long time. Multiple championships...come on.
  5. DH is Vaughn's natural position.
  6. Vaughn cant play 1st either. Dude is a DH.
  7. Stone gets more obnoxious every game.
  8. Great to see a HR from Vaughn (or anybody on the Sox) but meanwhile, if Stone crawls up Vaughn's ass any further, they will need a tweezers to pull him out. 11th HR this year and imagine that for a guy that trys to play in the outfield. Oh my.
  9. A big part of the problem is the constant focus on LaRussa by his harshest critics. OK he is a terrible Manager but they miss the main problem which is that this team lacks the talent to compete. Look at their pitching staff and position players. Kopech is what, their third best pitcher? or is that Giolito or Lynn? Vaughn is their best hitter...with 10 home runs and he is a DH with no speed on the bases. Play him in LF because Eloy might get hurt out there. . LOL. Sheets...LOL. Leury, LOL, Grandal, Pollock and Moncada LOL.
  10. It is easy for Stone to criticize and suggest that players are not working hard enough. These guys can work 24/7 trying to improve but they just aren't very good. The Sox are probably the 15th best team out of 30. ...maybe. All the disappointment is due to inflated expectations from the likes of Rick Hahn and people in the sports media. It is sport for a lot of fans and people in the media to build up a team or a player, promote inflated expectations.,then rip them a new @ hole and spend hours whining about how they fvked up. That's what is done here, every day.
  11. Tony has Vaughn in the outfield. LOL Vaughn lost the first game with the Rangers with his defensive foibles and almost took out Pollock.

Too bad Vaughn is such a stiff defensively or he could have been a permanent replacement at 3rd.

Moncada needs to cut down on his swing and try to make some contact....especially with two strikes...like most other hitters.Striking out too much reveals that he just isn't seeing the ball. Maybe a new hitting coach .
  14. When players approach 1.,000 major league at bats, one can begin to draw some conclusions. Numbers don't lie.
  15. Another bloop and a blast and we can get a W.
  16. Yaz ! And he looks slower than Vaughn... Put him in the outfield!
  17. Maybe Moncada should stop switch hitting. Pick a side, LH or RH and stay with it every time up. Maybe Mendocino can have his bat speed from both sides measured along with other data to make that decision easier.
  18. Eloy - My favorite White Sox player He starts in LF. or wherever he wants.
