  1. I was intoxicated with anticipation about that line-up with Eloy. Now I have sobered up.
  2. Eloy was in a lot better shape and probably weighed 10-20 pounds less when he made that catch. Anyway, if he was in better condition, he my not have sustained that injury. Anyway Eloy is a star player who has a lot of say in terms of where he plays. I bet he will still want to go out there and prove he can handle it.
  3. Lucas is the one pitcher that I think the Sox might pony up for. Probably not, but he looks so solid now....almost a guaranteed Ace for a few years.
  4. Mercedes may have been safe at second but no replay. Nice hit and run though unless it was a straight steal.
  5. Eloy has to get rid of the baby fat and work on his core strength just like Avi Garcia did.after he was injured diving for a ball. Avi came back looking like a different player. A lighter frame allowed him to be faster and more resilient to injury. It would be great if Eloy could make it back for a play-off run if this team can get there without him. That is what Schwarber did a few years ago and it paid off.
  6. Eloy was a clutch hitter and I for one have my doubts that this team could win the WS without him. He is part of the heart and soul of this team along with Abreu, TA Robert and Moncada. We needed them all to get there and one is gone even before the season starts.
  7. Eloy needs to lose the baby fat and get in better shape like Avi Garcia did. After Avi got injured he came back and proved he could be a decent outfielder.
  8. I was concerned that Eloy was carrying too much weight, was not in the best physical condition, and was susceptible to injury. Extra weight is what contributed to Avi Garcia's injury. Avi was able to come back and be a decent outfielder after surgery, losing weight and getting in better shape. Eloy has too much baby fat. Perhaps he can track what Avi G did and return as an outfielder in a lot better physical condition.
  9. OK, let's see a 40 yard dash with Collins, Yermin and Vaughn. My pick, Collins first, Yermin second, Vaughn third.
  10. Mercedes might beat Vaughn in a foot race. I'm not kidding.
  11. I was wrong about playing Eloy. He was dumber than I ever thought even though he was still my favorite player. This kills the Sox for this year and complicates the DH spot moving forward. For me, this just destroyed my excitement for this season . I have waited too see a powerful Sox line-up like we had on paper since the '77 season Fuck the World. This Sox and Eloy fan's heart is broken. Cub fans rejoice. Fuck them too.
  12. Come on Eloy. Play fly balls hit off the wall by staying back and playing the carom. Then hit the cut-off man with your throw. Let foul balls hit into the stands land there. So what, it is a strike on the batter. You are not Uribe in the 9th inning of game 4 of the 2005 WS. And you are not a baby whale getting caught in fisherman's net.
  13. Obviously Eloy needs to pull up on those balls and play them off the wall. That sounds easy but it has been hard for the big man to slow down once he gets going. If he can't play LF and has to replace Vaughn at DH, our lineup gets a lot less intimidating for opponents and exciting for fans.
  14. I think Eloy is the best hitter on the team and he is my favorite player. If he is out for an extended period or for the entire season with surgery, Fuck the world.
  15. I agree that Luis Robert should not be in the two spot. Too much swing and miss. I would prefer Tim leading off, Moncada second, Abreu third and Eloy batting clean-up.
  16. everyone please get vaccinated.
  17. Coop could have accomplished the same thing...almost nothing.
  18. Not even Katz could help him.
  19. We all saw Eloy make some bad plays where he went into the net on the foul line and also going back on balls hit over his head. Eloy has promised to improve his defense this year. Eloy has speed, is tall , has a decent reach, and has shown some athleticism. Left field is the spot for a player like Eloy that can hit for power but may not be a top defensive outfielder. He will be sufficient there for many years unless he gaains weight and loses his speed. Eloy is my favorite player on the White Sox. I love the guys positive attitude, his demeanor, and his clutch hitting. He is what Ernie Banks was to the Cubs in the 60's.
  20. Presumably Madrigal will provide plus defense and OBP and preserve most of the massive unbelievable $340 million 14-year contract that Tatis Jr. was given. Madrigal does not have to hit home runs, especially with the line-up we have. He just needs to play good defense and get on base.
