  1. I've spent the last 40 years as a cog in the wheel. For the most part, I'm ok with it. My kids turned out pretty well. The wife and I have more than most . I'm lucky enough to see my grand kids all the time. But it really hurts to see fools ruining the destiny of my first love. Kenny and Rick are in over their heads and always have been. Knowing JR couldn't care less makes it worse. We've all been saying the same thing in different ways for 15 years. What's the point? The worst part is billionaires live a long time.
  2. I think I may have told you before, but your "this day" posts are great. Keep it up!
  3. that's a relief after his last start.
  4. I hear your argument. The one reason I don't agree totally, is the Sox are morons. They are chickens when it comes to giving young players a chance. They have been this way for my whole life. The only guys they will give a shot to and stick with them are all 1st round draft picks. It really does seen Sosa is ready now. Too bad he had 13 poor at bats last year. That's a federal offense in this organization.
  5. Sosa has a 1.488 OPS at AAA. Including 3 HR and 6 walks. Popeye is only hitting .400 at AA.
  6. It's always about Sheets being better against righties. But Burger has only had about 30 ABs against righties in the majors. And Sheets isn't real good against lefties. He's just ok. Given the opportunity, Burger would end up better from either side of the plate.
  7. He's not gonna be the old AC that's for sure. But even a lesser AC is better than what we've got now.
  8. We all know how Mr. 2000 is doing. Lenyn Sosa has a 1.420 OPS at Charlotte. Too bad he can't pitch.
  9. agreed. anyone can post a 5.74 in colorado. he'll be in the bigs in 2 weeks.
  10. Not me! Check back in June.
  11. To the anti-Burger men out there, give him 100 AB's against righties. The man can hit. Even Sheets' good games aren't much more than sharp grounders thru the infield.
  12. Don't know which was worst, the pitch call or the pitch. 1-2 count calls for up and in. That means UP!!!!
  13. Funny thing, the best depth by position is DH,1B. Jake will rake!!

from your mouth to gods ear. if you can maybe put in a word for Gio it would be apprciated.
  15. I hate to be negative on opening day. TA is an impatient fool. He ruined a promising inning by swinging at a pitchers pitch on a 0-0 count. Very talented but very flawed player. I'm counting the days until Colson Montgomery takes over.
  16. Jake burger had a .724 against righties and an .892 against lefties last year. He has had 800 at bats in his career, minors and majors. Sheets has had 2100 at bats. who would you bet on improving this year?
  17. Not for 1B,RF and DH. Those are run producer positions.
  18. Sheets had a .736 OPS against RHP's last year. Maybe he bounces back, maybe the league has him figured out. .464 against LHP's. That's Billy Hamilton territory. Really bad outfielder. His only success in the majors was in his first 50 At Bats. He's been lousy ever since.
  19. If JR had hired talented people instead of toadies, he might have won more. If the Sox had won more the team might be worth more. The cheapskate always loses in the end.
  20. really had an MVP year before his injury cost him the award. it's funny how many strong guys turn out to be baseball fragile.
  21. Augsburger night. All fans over 60 drink for free. Or Meister Brau night. All fans over 70 drink free. JR would like that better.
  22. Hit him 7th. But please, play him him everyday. Cant remember how many times TLR would sit a guy after he had 2-3 hits the day before. What an asshole
  23. yep. averages 50 extra base hits a year and almost always puts it in play. i remember tommy herr knocking in 110 one year with just 8 HR's
