  1. Ouch. Painful, but truly deserved.
  2. If we don't care, why should you?
  3. It all starts with TLR. A truly creepy, entitled jerk. until he's gone ,we won't go to the games again. I still love the Sox, but he is too much to take. That's not even taking in to account how bad a manager he is.

I mentioned in another thread, that AAA might not be as useful to him as it would be to others. Colas has probably seen a vast array of breaking stuff and finesse good control pitchers in Japan. he might be the one guy who could come from AA and not be overmatched.
  5. I'd say you're half right.
  6. At 53 wins a year, it's gonna take longer than 10 years
  7. If Colas is still tearing it up in 6 weeks, I'd promote him to the bigs and play him every day. I don't think AAA will do much for him because of the Japanese league experience and his age. That guy could solve a lot of our problems all by himself. It's a tough call but I'd trade Abreu if a contender wanted a bat for the stretch. He's been a rock for many years, and he will be missed. Vaughn to 1B. Sheets can be launched into the sun along with Pollack, Leury and Josh. Burger to back up at 1B, 3B and LF. DH the rest of the time. The guy can hit. Eloy in LF. If he's not doing it by june 15th 2023, Send up another rocket. Pray that Yoan continues his little run here because it still could go either way with that guy.
  8. Excitement and the White Sox go hand in hand. Seriously, he's playing like a real prospect. If the team falls out of contention, he should be called up and play every day. One reason for the improvement since the promotion might be the more polished pitching in AA. He played in the Japanese majors and is probably used to seeing guys throw more strikes than A ball hurlers.
  9. anything less than 12-7, realistically ends your season IMO.
  10. There is a real chance that in 3.5 days, we'll know if the season is over.
  11. Cueto is MVP. They oughtta make him manager and hitting coach too!
  12. My favorite team of all time.

Really, until TLR is gone, all other threads should be suspended. It's just shuffling deck chairs, and every body knows it.
  14. Bad defense never hits until June. Another year older. We've already got multiple 1st basemen. There isn't a doubt in my mind he'll be back next year though. Jerry loves him and that's all that matters.
  15. Title of thread says it all. Johny Cueuto is probably the smartest. In my opinion, there is a 24 way tie for dumbest. When Eloy replaces Burger on the roster, it will be a 25 way tie.
  16. Any reference to Harry is always a good thing.
  17. Should be 5-0. I was at the only loss. Jose Q. was shutting them out 1 to zip in the 7th. Our only run scored on a homer into SF bay by Adam Dunn. Then Tyler Flowers was called for blocking the plate(the first one ever called after the rules change). The extra out opened the flood gates. Worst part about it was the runner trying to score was out by 10 feet.
  18. They probably have 2-3 weeks before it's too late. If the sense of urgency doesn't kick in by then they're finished.
  19. I remember tony and dave and jim going down to the tv station to threaten jimmy piersall and harry . very macho
  20. I think you're stuck Lillian. I feel the same way though. 45 years ago I could always figure out some reason to watch even when we stunk. Now I just check the score before bed and shrug my shoulders.
  21. Praying for a sweep. This has to stop. I was thinking of writing a book. The working title is: The Tony Larussa story; The death of shame.
  22. I hope he has enough self confidence. He's making a big leap, and there will be some tough times ahead. It can be hard to keep focused on defense when you're having a golden sombrero day at the plate.
  23. Why is his defense so highly valued if his range factor and fielding % is league average? Also .313 OBA isn't good. TA hits for a high average which helps negate his free swinging ways. I do like players who hit the ball hard though.
  24. Low batting average. Never walks. good glove and good power. Really doesn't sound like anything special. Is there something else I should know about him? If that's all there is, I wouldn't mortgage the future for him.
  25. Don't they replace the bad ligament with a larger ligament from the hip during TJS? Maybe he will be more durable after the surgery. So many guys have had this done now. Do any have improved durability going forward?
