  1. I don't think Andrew Vaughn will ever bounce back and be good. That being said, I've never seen any player in my life get f$#ked over again and again by the home plate umps. His strike zone is bigger Frank Howards was. The guy is 5' 11' at max and his plate is always 23" wide. I'm shocked he's never cold cocked an umpire because if it was me I would have.

Give him till May 1st. I made the same comment a year ago before I knew his back problem was lingering. It really doesn't look good right now. Some guys kill it in the low minors but collapse against better pitching. Colson looks like that kind of player.
  3. Really think dumping Pedro will keep the tean from 110+ losses. They could have kept Sizemore and still been better. I've never seen a guy like him before. Even worse than Terry Bevington. You almost have to admire someone so incompetent AND arrogant about it.
  4. Pallette should be in Charlotte unless they try starting him again.
  5. Probably share catcher and DH. Full time catching takes 5 years off a career.
  6. Bill Veeck said there are only 2 seasons. Winter and baseball. Lets light this candle!!!
  7. Ramos started slow and improved. He was injured and as time passed he became more productive. He should play all the time as DH or go to AAA and play there every day.
  8. he'll be older than my youngest kid before he pitches again. get the surgery already. did i mention the sweetest kid in the world is 37? god we suck.
  9. Andrew Benintendi ends up with a positive WAR. Maybe as high as 1.8. La Pantera stays healthy until traded. Teel is called up early and does well. Sox end up winning more games than one other team.
  10. 10 months ago it looked like he'd never make the bigs. Pitching for a rotten team does have its perks.:)
  11. Get the surgery now. Mason isn't young, and wasting another year hoping for a good outcome could end his chances.
  12. If things go well in the minors this spring, my optimism will skyrocket into positive territory by July. Sure we'll still suck the rest of the season. But as the Brooklyn Dodgers fans always said, "wait till next year".
  13. Hope Teel makes team and plays at least half the time. Hope Quero tears up charlotte and is up in June. Those 2 will really start the crawl back to respectability.
  14. I've been telling everyone I know about Grant Taylor for a year now. Maybe I'll get one right this time. :0 )
  15. Ouch. Sometimes the truth hurts.
  16. Don't be shocked if the Sox get a good player at 10. They do better there than when they pick higher. Crochet, Sale and Big Frank were all picked later.
  17. I honestly think AB is cursed with the Sox. If traded, he'll revert to normal. The worst part is that he's a good guy in a "Twilight Zone" episode.
  18. Grant Taylor. And about 5 other minor league pitchers. Peyton Pallette among them. So much for the one player thing.
  19. Yoshida has been better, but he's older and had the advantage of playing in Boston. Beni had to play for The worst team with the worst manager ever. He was also coming back from a broken wrist which sapped his power. I didn't look up their stats after AB returned from injury last June, but he was very solid after that.
  20. The Sox have 3 pitchers with legitimate #1 starter stuff. How many teams can say that? If you guessed none you're right. It's the only bright spot in the organization. If all are pitching well in June, Getz could trade one for 3-4 legit prospects and diversify their portfolio. Aces only come around once in a blue moon. Injuries happen all the time.
  21. this thread doesn't deserve 7 pages. honestly , it doesn't deserve 7 responses.

If Cubs don't make playoffs, Counsell gets fired.
  23. How close was Grant Taylor to making the list? He was in the running for #1 overall pick before arm surgery. Sox rolled the dice in early 2nd round and may have hit a grand slam. Was dominant after his return before a lat injury(Maybe caused by rust from layoff). He, Schultz and Smith are the future for us. Realistically, if two of these guys just don't get hurt, 2026-27 could be very different than today.
  24. Truth be told, The Sox team with this group of players is actually being overpaid as a group. They are probably worth 57.2 million. And that's in baseball dollars. In uber driver money it's about $75.
  25. If Quero remains healthy, he'll hit better than 95% of all catchers. His defense isn't a sure thing yet either. Still, not making the list is silly. He could move to another position and still be very valuable. Hit for average and solid power with a ton of walks plays just about anywhere.
