kinda surprised this wasn't posted anywhere.... from two days ago

Chuck Garfien

The Washington Nationals have a crush on the White Sox bullpen.

I mean, it's not news. It's just Garfien making a (probably accurate) joke.

Evidently Rick is asking for Robles in return.

Timing would be good for a Robles acquisition. He's the same age thereabouts as Luis Robert, and the two could join the system at the same time and same level, and form 2/3 of a future potential superstar outfield.

Pretty sure we all would do Robertson for Soto straight up

Eh... he has a little more value than that. Especially since we're probably eating some of his contract. Maybe add someone like Severino to that as a sweetener.

Soto, Severino & Robles for Robertson & Jones?

Sounds good to me but I think the Nat's say no due to Jones being on the DL. Could they bite on Robertson & Kahnle? Prefer to keep Kahnle but if it meant getting Soto & Robles in the same package then I'm good with that.

tbh i dont think they will be trading Robles for a reliever. He looks like a complete stud.

Rizzo and the Nat's are becoming more and more desperate so Hahn can shoot for Soto/Robles with hopes of at least walking away with Soto/Kieboom. I'd be surprised if the Nat's parted with Robles but ya never know.

Nightengale reporting that the Nats Robertson deal that fizzled out at management level this past winter was Nick Ward and Jesus Luzardo with the Sox picking up half the tab on Robertson.

I think they can don better than that now .

If the Nats owner blocked that, he messed up.

I don't know I kinda like Ward but obviously can't speak to Lazardo.

He's hitting with an .800 OPS in AA now. Good power.

Way better than the Robertson for Severino swap.

Ward would be a fine piece, but not the main one.

Lazardo hasn't pitched this year due to TJS.

I think this was instructive as a counterpoint to the insane proposals around here. Interesting we went after another 2016 pick from Nats.

You think one of Soto or Kieboom is unreasonable?

I think Kieboom may be that piece that matches up. But in three trades now we know we're discusse with Nats he never came up so who knows how we feel about him or Nats. But the Robles, Soto + for Drob/Jones/kieboom is crazy.

But also when you get to that 45-50 range of prospects I'm going to guess there are wider variations among team scouts than we give credit for.
