Ok y'all.

If La Russa comes with a big ass a pocketbook, does that make it easier to swallow?

Sure, but you can't guarantee me that at the time of hire so no not really.

Well yeah, that's my operating assumption at this point, I was just saying what I was hoping was happening since so many people not really in the org are telling anyone that will listen that he took the job.

If Tony is hired...I sure hope Jirschele is his bench coach or third base coach.

GUYS, it’s finally #Dday

No.  TLR is pretty antithetical to the core of this team IMO.  FA spending doesn't fix that.

pocketbook? How old are you!

Does AJ Hinch have a brother in law? If so can the Sox sign him to help with the recruiting efforts?

I must say I am quite disappointed that this is the thread that is hot the day after the World Series.

As old as La Russa?

I know this would never happen, but if you could take TLR, Bauer, and Springer right now, would anybody say no?

Why, I replaced mine with a billfold two-score years ago!

Watch them hire LaRussa then go trade Vaughn and Kopech for DeGrom as they go all in ?

Acquiring Degrom would be enough for me to forget La Russa exists

Am I crazy that I would have rather just stuck with Ricky than hire LaRussa? This is just madness by JR. Sorta kinda took a couple steps forward last off season with player acquisition... and now this off season we’re going to run backwards with an actual living dinosaur as coach

You're not crazy. A recent poll (back within last couple weeks) showed that there were a lot of people who agree with this.

I would...be totally ok with this deal.

Tony La Russa is becoming progressive in his old age.

Also, this basically solidifies to me that it'd be Zaleski.

Go sign Nelson Cruz for two years and dominate

That interview sure as hell makes it seem like Tony is getting the job

Maybe he could play rf and be our 3rd starter too!!!

All the handwringing about Hinch and Bauer...you'd just love to see a La Russa/Bauer dynamic

I think they would get along well

Given the heightened importance of contracts this year, that seems like a huge overpay for a deal with minimal surplus value. That said, I don't see Cohen cutting salary anyway

The only dynamic I'm worried about is La Russa/Anderson

Exactly, I think Woodruff would be their big pitching trade target
