I'm totally expecting the Twins to sweep the Sox and then go on a run solely because I have PTSD from Sox/Twins over the years.  (Note: intentional hyperbole)

Vaughn has really surprised me with his athleticism.  Actually looks good in the outfield and has made all the plays expected of him and then some.  Not at all worried about his hitting for power.  By

I personally won’t be impressed until the Sox start winning games they lose.

Im thinking we take 2 out of 3, a sweep would be magical

Crucial series?

It'd be nice to kick them while they're down.

Seems like everything is lined up for us to bury them...which means it likely won’t happen.  That’s ok.  I really hope Cease 2.0 shows up to the first game.  If he does, 2/3 seems realistic.

For the Twins more than for the Sox...they could REALLY be buried for good if they got swept and couldn't regain momentum with their best player on the shelf indefinitely.

Hopefully we don’t get them going.

Winning Tuesday would be huge as we have to be massive favorites in game 2 with a lefty on the mound.  Just taking two out of three would put the Twins 8 games behind us.

All divisional games are important. It will be more of a significant challenge than KC's rookie and two overmatched lefties, though confident facing Happ. Maeda has started slow but bounced back his last start at home against Texas. Pineda is going to be a pain in the ass, though thankfully the Sox' hottest starter is slated for the finale. Buxton going down is a major blow, Sox have a chance for a sweep.

Still believe Cleveland is the Sox' main rival this year for the division. With the loss of Clevenger, Lindor and Carrasco, they'll will still likely be good with their core pitchers and Ramirez, but likely their ceiling will be capped around 85-88 wins.

so tired of all these days off, I'm sure the team loves them but can't we just run off like 10 games in a row?

Lamb and Hamilton will probably start vs Maeda judging by their splits ?

Cleveland is a .500ish team unless they go something like 16-3 or 15-4 vs. Detroit.

McKenzie has about the same odds as Rodon staying in the rotation all season long.

Buxton being out for all of this series and maybe part of the following series in Minnesota is huge. Just need to keep doing what we’ve been doing all season, getting quality starts and manufacturing runs. Pitch to Cruz and Donaldson in favorable situations.

Also, Sox have to survive slump breakouts from typical Sox killers in Polanco (0.236), Kepler (0.213), Cave (0.169) and Sano (0.129).

There’s always 2008, minus the Carlos Gomez five tool superstar game they beat Jenks down the home stretch...

I think Buxton is going to be out a lot longer than just this week and part of next

Just win series and we are in great shape. As much as its been maddening with TLR and injuries. We are off to a great start

4 out of 6 against the Twins over the next 10 days will knock them far enough back that it will be awfully hard to recover.

Only in the sense that the White Sox need to asset themselves. If they really are the best team in the division, show it. They shouldn't let the Twins come into their home ball park and win two out of three. Won't be the end of the world, but that should not happen. Time to back up the pre-season hype.

Finished with the Twins on 8/11. That is some horrible schedule making. What's the point of playing 19 against division rivals if you aren't going to have games against all of them down the stretch?

After today we have 10 games in 9 days.

Polanco is already out of his slump, slashing .309/.377/.500 since April 14th. He just had a bad first two weeks.

I have no problem getting the Twins out of the way early.

Do we really need 3 days off in under a week?
