Yermin retiring? Nope. Wait, maybe yes? Wait, he's active in Charlotte again.

FWIW, this is a Not Steve Cishek rumor. Also Garcia hasn't been all that good for the past month.

Even if Yimi isn't great, he'll fit right in to this bullpen. Plus it would mean we FINALLY end the Reynaldo experiment, and Yermin gets a shot to play somewhere else. I see it as a Win all around.

Get this BOZO out of here.  What a temper tantrum millennial.   Last picture is him in a LeBron jersey... what a coincidence!

  • Two things can be true at once.  TLR was 100% wrong in how he handled the 3-0 count/HR situation with Yermin. Basically the entire roster sided with Yermin over Tony. It was dumb then and it's st

Yimi has a 3.67 ERA and a 4.70 xERA on the season. Fangraphs has him at replacement level on the year. He's a decent depth arm but honestly don't think he improves the Sox bullpen much at all right now.

It strikes me as weird that Yimi Garcia would get a higher return than Eduardo Escobar.

Well it's not much but I believe he now has healthcare for life and a partial pension for life as well. The pension is something like 9K a year for life.  Probably not enough to life on unless he wants to go back to the Dominican and live quite frugally but he's certainly got a good start on the rest of his life -- if he does retire.

Yea but if he work himself back to a DH/1B role for a second division team he could be making so much more. Too early for him to call quits on that.

Leury hasn't even been serviceable lately.

Much more competitive bullpen market.  Every team will be looking to add relief pitching, less teams need a 2B.

Retiro can mean leave or taking a spiritual retreat or to take something away.

Sure, but this guy doesn't seem very good and there are tons of guys like him for cheaper.

Sooo he’s playing in Charlotte and is 0-2

He left in the 6th. Vontae Davis situation and that's silly.

Wow, the kid sounds depressed by his statement. Hopefully he is OK in mental health terms.

I am happy to have the 40 man roster spot back in baseball terms, as we now have slots for both Eloy and Robert

I blame Tony.

Wow...

As the creator of this thread, I just wanna take a moment to pour one out for the people who thought the translation was inaccurate, and it didn’t actually mean he was retiring.

Opens up a spot on the 40-man for Eloy.
