Imagine being a manager and knowing you have 5 fresh relievers and 1 who hasn't been successful on back to back and pitched yesterday and say to yourself, let's go get the former in the biggest moment

We can still win this series. We just have to score more runs than Houston and you can take that to the bank

  • Let’s GO! Lots of pressure on Houston. They need to win one of the next three if they want to force a game 5.

It's just bad D and shitty ABs with RISP.  We've seen this shit all year long.

Asstros aren't even the cream of the crop in the AL.  I'm glad we're playing them and not the Rays, Giants or Dodgers.  We're in the second tier down and we need our guys to overachieve to win anything.

How many times do people need to post that the Sox are top 5 in baseball with RISP this year before people stop posting this narrative?

Sox match up way better against Rays than Astros

I don't think so.  The Rays out-position you, out-scout you, out-pitch you, out-manage, and out-defend you.  The Sox have been a mediocre at best team all year as far as getting the most out of the talent the Sox have on the field.  We'd need the Rays to make mistakes.  Lots of them.

And there is the difference between these two teams

Jose and Grandal are double plays waiting to happen back to back in the order.

What a fucking joke…can’t blow opportunities like that with your #3 / #4 hitter and expect to bear the Astros.

At least it wasn't a double play

That was

Missed scoring opportunities in the 1st and now the 3rd. If the Sox lose the game, these innings will be a huge reason why.

PATHETIC.

*Checks career post season stats*

I see Yaz is in post-season form.

We've zero chance if the middle of the line up fail miserably

Great hitting.

All Valdez does is throw ground balls

Astros get ground balls hit against them. That’s the Sox kryptonite

Grandal slowed down on that run to 1st.  So glad the athletes are going all out in a playoff series.  Christ.

we look deflated, WHAT WAS ALL THE FUCKING REST FOR????????????????????????????????????????

Bases loaded 1 out, 1 run

First and second 0 outs, 0 runs

Astros get a guy on and they just will them home. So frustrating

This is another hard watch. I have a worrying feeling we may have seen the only Sox run of the game!

I hate Grandal hitting cleanup for this very reason.

Playoff Grandal is real

PATHETIC.

I don't really know why Grandal is hitting clean up

Abreu not moving runners over leads to a DP. Awful all in all.
