We’ve been having some really bad luck at the plate so far today. Runners get on and we can’t get them in yet.

Gotta hold them at 2 and break it open at the plate!

Most of that has not been luck.

Imagine being a manager and knowing you have 5 fresh relievers and 1 who hasn't been successful on back to back and pitched yesterday and say to yourself, let's go get the former in the biggest moment

We can still win this series. We just have to score more runs than Houston and you can take that to the bank

  • Let’s GO! Lots of pressure on Houston. They need to win one of the next three if they want to force a game 5.

He was holding the runner on. Positioning was implied. It was very unlucky for the Sox an automatic DP.

And offensively Yoan was doing the smart thing and trying to hit the hole going the other way to take advantage of it.

No more fucking walks!!

Absolutely embarrassing at-bat from Vaughn.  I have zero concerns long-term, but clearly he isn’t right right now.

Tony shouldn't have sat him the final week (one start) if he planned on playing him in the playoffs. How are you supposed to have timing, trying to get out of a September slump, with 10 days off?

1B is never, ever playing that close to the line vs a right batter if there's not a runner on 1st. That's a double down the line.

Again he was holding the runner on. Every 1B would have made the play.

I'm going to watch in peace with Crede.

Hoping for a little good dog luck.

The overreactions and hot takes are hurting the experience ha. Go Sox!

Full count again

This offseason Sox just have to go full 2019 Twins and try to have 30 homer potential at every position

Gotta fix the guys that are here already as well. Eloy and Vaughn need to be vastly better

Good point

That's almost the same pitch that Correa didn't swing at in his previous AB.

Honestly giolito is doing a great job

Calling a team with a 160 RD and 93 wins "at best mediocre" is about as stupid as it gets, honestly.

Idiot is looking for attention or something.

Did they win a bad division? Yes. Do they have issues defensively? Yes. But so do a lot of other teams. And to the points you listed above, calling them mediocre is a fucking joke.

Or 2000 first half White Sox...2006 as well.

Ironic they thought Hernandez was going to be one of those guys with his career history being the polar opposite prior to this year.

I don't disagree with Alyson right now. This is the team we saw for long stretches in the second half, especially on the road. It shouldn't be surprising.

We need to keep the Astros at 2 runs and grind away. Get lucky and tie or take the lead. Any more runs given up will be tough to overcome, given how bad the offense looks right now.

They have a couple of question marks, like D behind the plate, problems with young hitters learning at the plate, etc.  Every team in baseball has warts.  Great, ours are more on display.  But HOU has their warts, too.  A 2 run HR changes things very quickly and that Framber fuckhead hung a curveball in the middle of the plate first pitch to Vaughn.  He can't do that stuff forever.

yep, he has done his job. you could say the fielders and his catcher are the reason for both runs.

we're never going to get national respect it's just another distraction.

The Sox have great pitching and a deep lineup. The defense is an issue, but pretending like this team only made the playoffs because of being in the ALC is ignorant of every advanced metric

He's busting out the changeup more now.

If only the White Sox were a bad team. Cause if they were, the Astros would get swept.

Gio looking posessed

Maybe we should get a camera on the catcher, a raspberry pi with a low voltage emitter, and some garbage cans for our players and maybe we can impress her.

Yeah, always being the very first game of the day...what would it take to actually change that?

2 down

Be in the playoffs for the next 5 years, make deep runs, win 100+ games.

Incredibly disappointing second half of the season

Seems like he had never played a full MLB season before.  He is not the issue nor Engel or Garcia.

I give Vaughn credit he handled more adversity as a player than some players on this team are capable of as professional athletes.

The top 6 in our lineup have a .417 OBP in this game and we have 1 run.  Zero clutch hitting and ability to string good at bats together.  These are the guys paid to produce and are failing not Vaughn, Engel and Garcia.
