1 slider so far. None to a lefty. Terrible game plan.

Grandal is in love with the fastball this series

Imagine being a manager and knowing you have 5 fresh relievers and 1 who hasn't been successful on back to back and pitched yesterday and say to yourself, let's go get the former in the biggest moment

We can still win this series. We just have to score more runs than Houston and you can take that to the bank

  • Let’s GO! Lots of pressure on Houston. They need to win one of the next three if they want to force a game 5.

Now he's down to 95 mph and we will hear about a strain all offseason...again.

Yeah with a fastball coming SS should have been more up the middle. 2 DP balls have resulted in runs today.

Yep, just from our point of view on tv those grounders should've been DPs

I'm not a second guesser usually, but man... Bummer is made for these situations - 2 on, force out everywhere, ground ball machine.

Crochet threw 24 pitches and was mediocre. Wtf is TLR thinking when Bummer was fresh? Too cute.

Honestly I could see Bummer doing the same thing.  That's how he's been this season.  It's the 5th and TLR isn't going to go to Bummer until at least the 6th, probably not until the 7th no matter what.

How would anyone think Crochet would look good on consecutive days?  God I wish they traded him last offseason.

Fully agree with the first part.

Nice play.  4-inning game.  Get the momentum back.

well still tied . we have the better bullpen so...

4-4 so disappointing

Even that was an awkward double play decision.

A+ play by Moncada.

I don't think the Sox are done scoring off this bullpen, and the Sox now have Tepera-Bummer-Kimbrell-Hendriks lined up for the next 4 innings.

Lets go! So frustrating...but in a battle of bullpens now...i go Sox

3 times back to back games all year, and not good in the 2nd game each time. And he fails here? That's on Tony.

No idea what La Russa is thinking.  Just said that we have five guys who are more high leverage and he chooses the guy he used yesterday who has a poor track record in back to back performances.

Can't use certain guys if its not the "right" inning.  Rinse & Repeat.

can't believe they're still letting Tony manage the bullpen lol, how have they not taken away his keys, they never learn sver

Guess it could have ended up a whole lot worse than that.  Giolito ends up with a pretty terrible line and no contract extension in sight.

Correa bailed Crochet out there swinging 1-0 and 1-1 at pitches out of zone.  Huge

We knew La Russa was going to be a hinderance come the playoffs, will have to find a way to overcome his poor in-game decision making.

Let's rail these stupid train people.

He seems like a manager who liked to save his bullets but you just can't go down 2-0 in a 5 game series. Have to treat this game like it's do or die. Win today and I'll take my chances at home with whoever is left in the pen.

I don't understand how literally every ground ball up the middle or to the right side that looks like a sure out is hit into complete open space. Baffling.

That was all Abreu

Try to tell TLR that you can use your closer outside of the 9th with a lead.

Yeah. With a 2nd closer in Kimbrel that should give you to confidence to use Hendriks wherever you want (including the 9th).

Velocity literally down 5 mph from last year.  So ridiculous

He should have been in the minors stretching out his innings.  Not wasting more controlled years in the bullpen.  The org has handled it awful.

3 walks in that inning, SMH
