  • Dude go fuck yourself. Seriously. Keep my name out of your mouth.

  • Huge news...Kimbrel spotted near the Dodgers Spring Training complex.

  • Yes. Sox would forfeit like the 65th pick, the bonus pool amount associated and $500K in international space. They should be willing to do it though.  This offseason hasn't been a good one for

Lux more-so than Bellinger.  But I imagine we'd have to eat cash either way (which I would).  Gonsolin is a name I've always personally liked too

I think both Bellinger and Lux are super unlikely to be involved. But Lux would be amazing. Eat $5M of the deal, get Lux, and then go sign Conforto.what a squad that would be.

agreed. I don't think either are realistic. Lux I would think be more realistic but why would we need Gavin Lux when we have 2 overpaid utility players already for 2b!

That would be a tremendous end of the off season indeed.

If the Sox are not willing to eat some $$ to get back a decent return for Kimbrel...that would be some bullshit.

Ok, I just see Lux and Bellinger and think that’s going to be out of reach for Kimbrel.

Yet he has never made an All-Star Game.  He has been very good the last two seasons, but has only played like a #1 prospect and true MVP candidate for one season in the big leagues.

I never said he will suck in the future.

I said the White Sox will eventually have to decide if they want to pay $24/$25 million for a 4ish fWAR 3B.

That's great if they can... but it will likely require running a $210-225 million payroll at that point.

I will believe it when I see it actually happen before my very eyes.

I'm hopeful he is physically over long Covid and back to the near superstar/dynamic player he was in 2019.

That's it.   Because non star or fan favorites (Konerko the LONE exception) stand no chance of sticking around when they get too expensive from a management standpoint.

And perhaps those future/expected contract dollars are blocking Conforto right now, and not so much Kimbrel per se.

The point remains...someone makes a nice optimistic comment and with absolute certainty someone on Soxtalk will pee on their head.

To state categorically that management wont pay him is dark.  Ive been pointing out for two years, in the face of the constant "White Sox are cheap, JR will never pay" comments that JR has had top 5 payrolls in 90s, 00s and 10's when the team was good and would again this year...and I was mocked. And now we are top 5 payroll and the negativity switches in a new direction...we pay stupidly.

At least we can agree...if Moncado can get back to 2019 Moncado...this team will crush.

They are out of reach. Sounds like a fantasy land to me. But it sure would be something!

they are out of reach, but is there anything else we can add in that Dodgers would be interested in? within reason of course

Look what happened to Ventura, McDowell, Fisk, Thomas, Ordonez, Lee, Durham, Buehrle, Valentin, Thome...it's dark to mention only Paul Konerko and Contreras to a lesser extent left the White Sox on pretty good terms?

To predict a happy/optimistic contract extension for Giolito or Timmy Anderson or Cease just hasn't been the way this team conducts its business historically.  We extract value and move on, as was clearly the case with Carlos Rodon.

Now many do come back later...we have a loyalty factor with ex players, but it hadn't usually extended to the sunset phase of their playing careers. Many do become coaches, minor league instructors and team ambassadors.

Eat Price's last year and maybe a young arm. Ofcourse to accomplish the former they'd need to get Keuchel off the books (or mostly off the books).

Wow, woke up and saw the news. Gotta love it. Whitesox gonna Whitesox though and sit on their hands. This damn team does it year after year…

I read the news today oh boy,

About a lucky man named Correa,

And though the news was rather sad

Well I just had to laugh....

Story and Conforto need to come off the board today. You know who to the Sox.

Kimbrel traded to a west coast team.

Sox sign or trade for a backup catcher.

Sox trade for Manaea.

It's supposed to be Sunday breakfast with the Beatles.

But under the circumstances,  I'll allow it.

Like.. how could we not have a backup catcher by now.  They should be in camp working with their new starting pitchers..  What a travesty lol

I remember when everyone was laughing at the idea that the twins would be in on conforto.

Lol

Because he’s not a fit. Not because of money.

Correct

FG has the Twins at 79.4 wins before this. Correa is worth 5 wins alone. That puts them at 84ish wins. If they go and get Montas, the Central tightens up quite a bit.

Been saying this for a while but the margin for error for the Sox will be no where near where it was last year.

Any new thoughts on Conforto or the "kimbrel to west coast" rumors? Are we even in anymore or are we done?

Oh OK jimmy, yes no one was laughing because of money.  Two people literally said Twins have never offered a fa contract that big and yada yada.

Sigh.
