He's down 1.3 MPH from his season average. That's not uncommon at all for starters throughout a long season.

Except now his last 2 pitches were 91 and 92

  • I know this is obvious, but if we don't start getting our hitting in order, we are not going to win a damn thing this season.

This team lacks focus. Get a new manager before it's too late.

  • Let’s not act like Tony didn’t have a large role in deciding who to acquire the last two offseason.  Hahn is a disgrace though and should be fired IMO.

Great play by TA to end the inning

I hope that this is just Kopech having a dead arm game.

He has to reach back for 94 today.

Im convincing myself he’s taking some off the fastball for control purposes…he was throwing hardest at 94/95 during the terrible 2nd inning

Take your 5 innings and run.

Nice recovery, Kopech.

I'm sure he was gassed. But there are starters down ~1.5 MPH every night who end up being fine.

Kopech allowing 3 ER in 5 innings against a lineup this good shouldn't be the end of the world. Not the worst start from him, all things considered.

Well given the recent history of this franchise…

Recent?

One Mambo is all Reinsdorf gets

That 2nd inning was some bullshit there.  Kopech looked great in every other inning.  Offense gotta do something.

Weak contact after weak contact

Pollock's career coming here to die is very on brand for the Sox

If Abreu, Grandal and Pollock are finished then this team is going to have massive problems all year.

$10M player option.

Leury crushed that one. I thought it had the distance

Don't forget Harrison, Keuchel, Kelly, possibly Cueto, and who knows about Lynn.  Sox could be the last line on a ton of careers this year.

Another lazy Sunday effort by the Reinsdorf organization.

Why does this offense so often look like it has the strategic game plan of an intermural softball team??

Sleep walking at bats again

Tip your cap. These guy is dealing.

Sox generally do not do well against soft tossing, crafty lefties.

So they generally do not do well against some lefties and most righties. Good times.

Other than that, totally dominant!

Sox look like the baseball version of the Bulls. Can't defend, horrid stretches of no offense or impatient offense, and always hurt.

No idea how Michael got out of that inning…some very hittable 91 mph fastballs

But however he did it, it was a great outing for Michael. Good to see him be able to navigate a tough lineup without his best stuff
