6/27 Sox @ Angels: One Win Changes Nothing, Fire Tony La Russa Into The Sun Gamethread (8:38PM CT, NBCSC)

Featured Replies

I can’t remember a team, night in and night out with line ups with more players that play out of position EVERY NIGHT. Don’t want to hear Injuries as an excuse.  Blame TLR, blame Hahn for the team he put together, blame JR for allowing all this to happen

I am deeply truly sorry your precious volatile fragile feelings are so distraught at the mere suggestion that the team should remove a dreadfully underperforming manager.  Perhaps tis not myself that

  • Last time I remember being happy as a Sox fan.  (Not a coincidence, Tony wasn't there) FIRE TONY

  • The manager is the moron for playing a first baseman in right field.

Yep it’s just a bad team. Seby getting this many at bats is funny.

Seby's been ok for a 3rd Catcher but yeah the dude plays more here than he would on a 100 loss team.

Amazed people think that was a "tough" play.

Sheets was running to the spot the entire time while looking back at the ball. He took a rounded route. He was still under the ball and it hit him right in the glove.

A normal outfielder not only runs to the spot and is sitting under the ball, but it wouldn't even be considered a tough play. That was a 1* catch if he makes it.

Any play that involves an approaching fixed object, like a wall, on a full sprint is not considered "routine" by any stretch.

sosa  has the white sox organizational philosophy it appears

take pitches down the middle and swing at balls.....

seen it for about a decade now.

Every team, even the Orioles, seems to have so many more legit major leaguers in the lineup.  Every day the Sox have 3-4 minor league caliber players in the lineup.

It wasn't the easiest play but it's one an average outfielder makes

But the Sox typically lose patience when a young rookie starts 1/10...leading to more Harrison/Leary.

Cycle repeats or perpetuates itself.

Hahn needs to go badly

I literally am fed up with this BS.

Get Sheets the F out of the outfield. That is another routine play that any half competent Major League outfielder makes.

Can Hahn explain how the Braves acquired three competent outfielders at the trade deadline last year, and the Soxacquired none and were stuck with the likes of Goodwin and this season with Sheets.

I'd very much like the FO to thoroughly explore this firing concept.

If he had any speed he would have been camped at the base of the wall waiting.

Don't drift back...bust ass get there first to the wall and readjust.

Outfield Play 101.

The whole organization needs to change. Nothing will be different if JR owns/runs the team

They're gonna blame injuries again this off-season and nothing will change.

Goodwin and Hamilton were fine for what they were.

And it was four: Rosario Soler Duvall Pederson.

No and that is why he needs to go right along with TLR. This team looks like it was constructed by a 5 yr old.

Sheets and Pollock would be done for the year if they tried this. The only players on the team that could pull it off were Robert and Engel

I think massive changes take place

Really can’t remember watching more boring uninspired games than we’ve seen so far already this season.

Poor Sheets can't take his eyes of the ball while turning and running and tracking simultaneously...and then there was the sun.

Too difficult to expect him to make the play all things considered.

Vaughn is terrible on defense. One of the worst in baseball.

Yep this is the season from hell. Type of season that sets back a franchise for 5-7 years.

He's not a real outfielder.

Can you imagine Tony as a football Coach?  Then he could really play guys out of posituin.

He'd play linebackers at safety cause who cares if they get beat over the top?
