That stat about Sox pitchers throwing the fourth most pitches in 1st innings is quite telling. Because it inexorably/inevitably leads to shorter outings from all of the starters but Cueto. The idea of sweeping through the Tigers again isn't looking so good anymore either...plus we get their best pitcher in Skubal, even though he's a lefty.
