  • Earl Weaver knew how to manage.  Probably my all-time favorite.  If you were a regular player you were on the field or in the hospital.  He didn't try to overthink it.

If we get swept by the A's which is a good possibility as they also swept the Astros then we have to blow up this this team of losers and quitters. I don't know if I can take watching this sorry cast

Love him slowing down at the end there

He’s lost so much explosiveness offensively. He’s a big reason the power is so bad.

Joe Madden also.

Ditto Red Auerbach & Scotty Bowman.

This seems like it should be an excellent match-up for Pollock.

edit - never mind

Another incredible 0-4 for Yoan, with pathetic hustle as well

Yeah but look at those pink shoes!

Absolutely embarrassing

I'd be really impressed if Hahn despite the manager fired some of the coaching staff. That is a rarity in sports.

You kidding? Hahn is the biggest yes man, pussy in sports. Nothing changes, ever, unless Jerry wants something done (which he doesn’t). Worst performing GM in all of sports

Pollock should have killed that 2nd pitch.

Hank Haney in golf. That Tiger fellow seemed to be helped.

"Why are the White Sox so bad at home??"

AJ is the 2nd most clutch player in baseball. Can he deliver again?

Huh?

Yeah wtf dude. Unacceptable

I’m sick of beating the dead horse, but fire the shit out of Menechino.  These guys are unprepared, undisciplined, and straight up guessing half the time.  Beyond the shitty approach, these guys looking completely fucking clueless.  For the love of god fire Menechino and see if anyone else can get through to these guys.

Twitter, i.e. my White Sox broadcast.

Go to the FanGraphs leaderboards, then to win probability, and sort by clutch. Pollock doesn't technically qualify since he doesn't have enough PAs, but if you make 300 PAs the minimum he's 2nd in the majors in Clutch.

Don't know the exact stats but he has driven in runs in late innings situation maybe 8 or 9 times that either tie the game or give the Sox the lead.

Neither did Earl Weaver.

PS - Leury is a first ballot unanimous HOF compared to La Russa's career.

I think TLR had a .199 career MLB batting average, just below Mendoza line.

Is there a reason we're saving Graveman here?

So our high priced relievers are hurt?

Because he sucks?

Orioles Tigers A's all top 5 in AL bullpen ERA in July.

Don't need huge budgets to pull off that accomplishment.

Isn't there also high variation year to year in relievers?

So why would we spend big money on multi-year deals for multiple relievers?

I mean besides the fact that TLR wanted to get into  DeLorean and head back to 1989 baseball?

The most shocking thing to me is how well Robert comes out in all of those metrics. I didn't realize he'd been so good in high leverage/clutch situations.

if one of our guys ran like Kemp did they would be on the IL tomorrow

Ha right down the plate

The ump scorecard tonight is going to be very one sided
