Can't wait for injuries being the excuse for why TLR gets another chance.

lol, come on.  Are you really going to let a slump define his whole career?

The Leury Garcia voodoo doll is real.

Do we know when Anderson got hurt, or if he’s had this injury for an extended period of time?

Broadcast showed an at bat against Texas where he checked his bat hard and started looking at his hand

Seeing how he has hit for the last month, it wouldn't shock me if this was already bothering him, and it finally fully gave out a few days ago.

Yea either the pre game or announcers (can’t remember which) had talked about May 27th something happened and his BA has fallen off a cliff since that day.  Was that when Donaldson “fell/knelt” on his hand at third

Didn't he hit a homer the day after that? Then he hurt his groin against the Cubs a week later.

I mean it really could be a slump, but when TA turns into Leury for a month, there is probably something wrong.

What happened to his defense?  He lost all his power but was hitting well enough that he was fine.

2024 keystone combination will not include TA. Write it down.

I'll take the under on that. He's a competitor and wants to get out on those road trips.

I’ll take the over. Think he’s done for the year.

Especially if the team is eliminated.

I'll take the middle, as in his finger. ?

The  good news is TA now has some time for more side pieces.

I'll take the over.  We will be out of it by that point and the Sox will shut him down the rest of the year.

It’s pretty damn depressing how much Timmy and the Sox have fallen compared to the day of last year’s Field of Dreams game.

Not unlike the game ratings and cultural imprint...what Cubs' Hollywood celebrities are involved this year?

  • 5 weeks later...

Things have been awfully quiet on the Tim front.  Starting to think he may not be returning this season.

I do know he is scheduled to visit a hand specialist today, which hopefully will clear him for baseball activities.  But regular season ends three weeks from tomorrow - is there enough time?

The "5 weeks later" the forum added to this thread is helpful when judging whether they were accurate about this being a 4-6 week injury.

Elvis and Tim have played exclusively at SS (or DH) throughout their careers. However, Romy Gonzalez played all three OF positions and the majority of his games played in the minor leagues (68 LF, 17 CF, 3 RF, 47 across three infield positions). If they work Romy the next two weeks pregame in the OF, specifically RF, they could improve their OF defense and have a net gain at offense.

  1. SS Anderson (R)
  2. 3B Moncada (S)
  3. 1B Abreu (R)
  4. DH/LF Jimenez (R)
  5. CF Robert (R)
  6. LF/DH Vaughn (R)
  7. C Grandal (S)
  8. RF Gonzalez (R)
  9. 2B Andrus (R)

Bench: C Zavala, OF Pollock, INF Garcia, 1B/DH Sheets

DFA: Engel & Harrison
