Jose Ruiz DFA'd, Jesse Scholtens called up

It finally happened

Guy almost had more lives than Leury it seemed

Not sure Scholtens is the answer but gives them some length in the short term.

I would say having to DFA a guy 6 games into the season doesn't inspire much confidence in major league scouting (once again). What's hostetlers role again? I forget.

LOL Hahn has literally set money on fire as Sox GM.

We all know Scholtens will be a flaming gas can.

Congratulations to Jesse....make the most of this opportunity young-ish man!!

Remember when Jose Ruiz dominated in the WBC and struck out Trout?

Future most missed Sporcle answer of the 2023 White Sox

Now do Kelly and Dickman.

Dudes like Hostetler are barely putting any work in.  Dude likely works 10 to 15 hours a week tops. The results of the last 18 years are proof of that. This kind of stuff happens in organizations where there is no accountability and job performance is secondary to being a "yes Man"

I don’t really care what money Hahn has set on fire at this point. I care that Grifol can tell him “DFA this guy, cut this guy” and it happens. Quickly. And that seems to be the case.

And Bryan Shaw too. Ruiz has a great arm. There's no doubt about that but never became a pitcher. Just a guy who could throw triple digits.

This seems less than ideal too.

Should have happened years ago.

He overstayed his welcome. He belongs in AAA.

Might actually get there. Doesn’t have enough service time to reject assignment and keep his $950k.

The fact it took this long is seriously pathetic. He never should have made the roster from spring training. He should have been DFA after that second horrible debacle outing.

Another fine outstanding example of our Fu*#ked up front office having absolutely no clue in how to scout, draft, develop and coach winning major league pitchers.

Ruiz looked really good the game I saw him in the WBC. I was hoping for a surprise from him this year, but he's  been batting practice. Don't think they exactly upgraded here, as Hahn taking most of the winter off is already starting to show. Obviously  this organization is not serious about winning, just hoping for a few breaks.

Hahn is so bad at his job it's ridiculous.
