Just get the surgery already. maybe but I wouldn't be surprised if they just called it a season. He had such a weird draft year, hit his innings. Esp with just a few weeks left.

Beckham does seem to be the next option.

August 31, 20232 yr Going to ask the very obvious here. Obviously something is very wrong with the organization. They had two winning seasons in 2020 and 2021, but 2022 was a let down and 2023 was a complete bottoming out, they are one of the worst teams in the league. The minor league system is bad, which is nothing new for the Sox, key players are continuing to get hurt/not being able to stay on the field, basically since Herm left, the analytics department is woefully understaffed, and the list goes on. Even if Jerry gave Getz 100 million to fix those problems (not counting player payroll)...how does Chris Getz know what to fix? Since his arrival in 2016, he reported to Rick and Kenny. They were just fired due to poor performance. How does Getz know what sort of infrastructure is needed in an ML organization to be successful? It's one of the many reasons why not even having an interview process for this job is so insanely stupid.

Magic answer to everything: emulate the 2014-15 Royals, including Sal Perez and letting Grifol have another year to prove he wasn't a terrible choice.

August 31, 20232 yr Getz very well could be handed the keys with a simple mandate to be cost conscious and minimise the embarrassments. As long as the money rolls in JR doesn’t care about the baseball itself, so long as the fan base is relatively pacified and the org leaks are kept to a minimum. There's no way in hell anyone in the fanbase is even relatively pacified at this point. Doubtless that many might be even angrier than before the Hahn and KW firings.
August 31, 20232 yr Author 3;30 pm Press Conference. Sadly, it is to announce his promotion and not his firing. Fire Chris Getz (4-6 .400 and counting). Edited August 31, 20232 yr by South Side Hit Men

August 31, 20232 yr I watched Clayton Kershaw face Luis Robert on a side field at Camelback about 5 years ago. Getz was sitting next to me on the park district style bleachers. Instead of watching he was playing Candy Crush on his phone.
