They had two winning seasons in 2020 and 2021, but 2022 was a let down and 2023 was a complete bottoming out, they are one of the worst teams in the league. The minor league system is bad, which is nothing new for the Sox, key players are continuing to get hurt/not being able to stay on the field, basically since Herm left, the analytics department is woefully understaffed, and the list goes on. Even if Jerry gave Getz 100 million to fix those problems (not counting player payroll)...how does Chris Getz know what to fix? Since his arrival in 2016, he reported to Rick and Kenny. They were just fired due to poor performance. How does Getz know what sort of infrastructure is needed in an ML organization to be successful? Magic answer to everything: emulate the 2014-15 Royals, including Sal Perez and letting Grifol have another year to prove he wasn't a terrible choice. As long as the money rolls in JR doesn’t care about the baseball itself, so long as the fan base is relatively pacified and the org leaks are kept to a minimum.
