Wait. They've already got several unknown lefty relievers. In fact, the whole bullpen is basically unknowns. Seems redundant.

Gimme Brad Hand.  Played against him a bunch growing up thru HS.

Coach Jimmy ate all the foodie accounts and now possesses all of their speculative powers (Please don't ban me).

  • Quin changed the title to Sox close to signing unknown lefty reliever, per James Fox

@Y2Jimmy0 this might be my favorite reported signing tweet in a while and I want you to know that

Tanner Banks and Sammy Peralta are dudes you can launch so makes sense. Plus, can't rely on Crochet's health.

Anyway, lefty relievers available:

  • Aroldis Chapman
  • Josh Hader
  • Brent Suter
  • Scott Alexander
  • Matt Moore
  • Brad Hand
  • Jake Diekman
  • Aaron Loup
  • Chasen Shreve
  • Joely Roriguez
  • Richard Bleier
  • Amir Garrett
  • Tim Hill
  • Wandy Peralta
  • Justin Wilson
  • Brett Martin
  • Jarlín García
  • Drew Pomeranz

Jimmy any progress on the trade front?

Im going with Alexander. Was with Bannister in SF last season, and was with, of course, the Royals when Pedro Brown nose was there.

This would be my guess as well

Is he going to pitch with a paper bag over his head?

I honestly don’t hate the idea of signing Chapman and sticking him at closer. Of course there’s a chance it goes terribly, but if he succeeds in the handful of save opportunities he’ll get here it would only increase his value at the deadline.

I also know there’s about a .5% chance it will be Chapman

Chapman is a waste of money IMO.

35 year old Aroldis Chapman for 3.75 million dollars got the Royals a 25 year old controllable starting pitcher who put up 2 bWAR in 12 starts and a lotto ticket.

Your post is probably the White Sox thought process though.

All praise the great Chris Getz!

I'd love Chapman.  but we won't be spending more than a few million, so i'll go with a guy we will cut by July.

Drew Pomeranz would be a good signing.
