Bum of all bums.  Right up there with Eloy and Moncada.  No one could ever depend on those three walking injuries.

Marte incident: players are human, have feelings.

Robert tight hamstring: the bum of all bums.

In all fairness, moving on from Ricky was probably the right move. They needed a better game manager and he proved to be lacking when it mattered. Too bad we ended up with the worst possible downgrade.

Nah. Our organization pulled a Knicks. Had a fit we got eliminated and canned a great fit as manager. Better for him, though. You win with talent and the White Sox only care about money not product.

He doesn’t drink.

Poor guy's hammy made it through the cold weather months. Hope he doesn't come back too soon and tear it. Robert seems like a can't miss prospect physical specimin (like Eloy) but is another Eloy. Inexplicably he can't hit.

Eloy, Moncada and Robert got their money bag and suddenly they become injury prone, underperforming players. 🤨  This pisses me off because the fact that the Sox will literally get nothing of value back for these guys is mind boggling. It has set this current rebuild back for sure.

Eloy suffered a serious injury in that spring training game. He never recovered. He lost his power. He's back in the minors and can't hit there either.

Look if the amount of money these guys got was enough for them with the promise of contracts in the $300 to $500 million range out there for them if they got through the first deals, they are some of the dumbest humans alive.  There is wealth, and then there is generational wealth, and if they pissed away half a billion dollars because they were happy with $50-60 million... well let's just say I don't believe the "lazy" propaganda campaign.

I don't think it made any of them lazy (or lazier than they already were), but it could make them just a bit more complacent, and at this level that might be all it takes.

I think the injuries had a much bigger impact than any complacency or laziness, though. Moncada, Robert and Eloy all missed a LOT of time with serious leg injuries + Eloy's chest tear.

Tim Anderson was another who was just a different player after playing through his injuries.

Yup. Injuries took their toll, people started struggling, the team couldn't win and out came the chemistry issues. The Sox managed to plug gaps in 2021 but couldn't do it after that, and it all blew up in 2023.

White Sox placed OF Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 26, with a left hamstring strain.

With less than one hour remaining before first pitch on Sunday afternoon, Chicago has decided to send Robert to the injured list and extinguish any hope that he would potentially be ready for Tuesday’s series opener against the Dodgers. The 27-year-old center fielder has been battling a left hamstring issue recently and figures to miss at least a couple weeks, even if imaging only reveals a mild strain. The timing of the injury certainly complicates matters from a trade standpoint as Robert was expected to be one of the more high-profile names on the move at next month’s deadline.

He, Eloy and Moncada can now be known as the "Bust Brothers..."

He'll play out the string and the Sox won't pick up his option this off season.

As Hawk would say, "He GONE!"

He has clearly gone full Moncada and Eloy. Why even fake like you care and you want to play, just say you have a sore hamstring, keep saying it and you can sit out all year and collect your money.

But who cares? Even with MAT being the dumbest player the Sox have had in a while, he's still better than Robert.

With Vaugh gone, and Sox can pay him off and dump him and the incredible stink of all those under achievers will be gone. Good riddance  . ..

If Robert could learn to lay off the junk and not go through such long stretches where he's caught in between at the plate, he'd be so much better, and I think much more so in a lineup where there's more boppers like LA or NY.

At this point, I can’t imagine a team trading for Robert unless they give up almost nothing and take on as little of his contract as possible just to see if he somehow gets hot on a team with a chance at the postseason.  With this injury and now even less time to “get hot” before the trade deadline, he looks like a pure salary dump at best, and not much salary because the Sox will probably have to eat a lot of it.  Keep in mind that any team that trades for Robert will be on the hook for his $2 million dollar buyout.

Hard to believe, but Robert has an .870 OPS against Left-handed pitching.
That's sellable.

That is crazy.  Made me wonder how his overall numbers are so bad, until I looked at his numbers against right-handed pitching.  Mind-blowingly bad.

Would you happen to know how long the Sox have control over:

Mike Vasil

Shane Smith

I am assuming Houser gets traded by the deadline because he is a F/A in 2026.
