Fraley and Steer are a combined -0.2 fWAR and Dunn's still a pretty unknown quantity at the big league level at this point.

I think the point was those 4 guys suck which is why they would want Robert, not that the Sox would take any of those 4 in a trade.

Okay? And Korey Lee has the same fWAR as Robert, so I guess we are assuming these are all just similar caliber players then.

Weird how f and b WAR are the same for Lee but with Robert bWAR is .8 .That's a significant difference.

I thought it was that they didn’t need Robert…maybe missing the sarcasm.  Friedl and Dunn are at least +0.5.

Friedl and when they get Hays back is at least 2 guys. Can still use Robert for sure.

Has Korey Lee ever had a 3.9 fWAR season? Because Friedl has. Friedl has accumulated 4.4 fWAR since 2023. Robert has accumulated 5.6 fWAR since 2023. Robert has been the more productive player but not by a lot and appears to be a minimal upgrade in CF (and he’s a lot more expensive in salary terms). I guess they could move Robert to RF but then his bat plays down much more than it does in CF.

Wow, I think you’re going to be very disappointed by the return if this is your line of thinking. The package you mention is close to what the Sox got for Crochet and he was far more valuable.

Yep, I’m thinking a fringe 100 guy at best

Wasn’t Arroyo the target last time?

Hasn’t he been pretty abysmal at the plate?

Arroyo alone would be a great return for Robert. I’ll be surprised if they get a prospect that good in return for him.

Abysmal? In 15 games, he has a .351 AVG, .431 OBP, .852 OPS. No homers yet though and only 4 extra base hits (all doubles).

The fact we have to trade Robert is what I so hate about MLB. Sox can't afford to pay him the going rate so he must be dealt for 3-4 saviors who soon enough will be unaffordable themselves. The fact baseball allows just a few teams to buy all the great players is sooo disgusting (to me). Others accept it, love it, love the unknown players we're going to receive in the name of tanking/rebuilding. Lip I know you will just say that's life with Jerry as our owner, but Lip, even you may admit this is a disgusting sport to follow for the reasons I've suggested here. Yes I wanted Sale to stay, Crochet to stay, Cease, Robert. All this inequity and still baseball has a gazillion fans. Sad.

BABIP is also very high though. Let's see his stats when it normalizes.

Also fair. I just don’t know what to reasonably expect to get for him.

Saw him in the spring and he didn’t look like he’d have any projectable power

I guess I should have said his numbers are misleading...we already have Bergolla/Bonemer and about five or six more 625-725 ops infielders, so really need more quality outfield depth than just Braden.

Zavala and Wolkow not exactly lighting the world on fire, either.

Pages one of the hottest hitters in baseball but that won't deter them.

Plus Conforto has been NOT so good.

Teoscar just hit the IL and apparently “inactive for a while” per Dave Roberts.

He or Ohtani are definitely their offensive MVPs so far.

117.9 ev homer from Shohei already this week...catching fire again.

You can pretty much guarantee Andrew Friedman can fix whatever he needs to with that impressive/deep farm system and virtually unlimited financial resources.

The Sox CAN afford to pay good players they CHOOSE not to blaming everything and everyone from the fan base to the stadium.

BIG difference.
