  • I do not think this is good for him, and it’s based on a very small sample size of good ball

As someone who watches unreasonable amounts of Sox MiLB and has seen Colson play at every level including AFL, I think this is the right move.  The spot where they rushed him was from AA to Charl

  • You expected the Sox to not be idiotic?

Hell yeah let’s go

Oh its happening!

Sox vs. Rockies. Probably would've seen better competition if he just stayed in AAA for this series.

But bring it on!

I do not think this is good for him, and it’s based on a very small sample size of good ball

The Rockies in Colorado while he’s hot may be good for the confidence.

Yes. Let him mash some hr's in the air up there. Get him going. I like it.

It's time for him to s%*# or get off the pot IMO. Now, I reserve the right to change my opinion if he can't play a passable TA like rookie year SS. Otherwise we don't have a roster spot for him imo. As is we're clearing Chase off what is probably his best position right now.

All I’m saying is maybe show up all the way into the break?  So, a month Instead of about a week?

I hope the kid figured something out I really do but it feels like a small hot streak in a shitty season got it done

Don't think there's a right or wrong answer here really. I don't think if he fails in MLB it will be because he didn't get another 100 or something AAA PA.

We fuckin!

5 minutes ago he was broken.  Now, get him up here.  They had better at least play him daily when Tony makes the line ups.

This is the White Sox, of course they will rush him up the moment he shows a pulse.

I am in complete agreement with you though, I would have waited to see him sustain the recent success for a larger sample, even if it’s a few more weeks.

Yep let's see how he looks at SS for the rest of the year. Meidroth back to 2nd which he prefers.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they started him at 3B and benched or released Rojas.

that would be fucking insane. please let's not do that. don't throw a brand new position on him goodness.

I would have been fine with an Aug 1 or Sept 1 debut, but this is fine. Brooks, Meidroth, Colson, Vargas, Sosa, Teel and Quero - this is the team going forward, so they might as well get them figuring it out together.

Agreed. In no world is a well-regarded prospect who you had to protect from the rule 5 draft ‘not ready’. He might suck, but he isn’t being rushed; and check it out, you can send him back down.
I mighta thought he would’ve produced these numbers during spring training and made the team then, but it didn’t happen.  He’s doing it now though, wonderful, and what is the guy actually gonna work on in AAA? If you’re his coach, what are you asking him to prove?  Again, if he isn’t ready and sucks, demote him, then you get a clearer idea about the player. At a certain point, the next developmental step is the MLB. If he isn’t “ready”, he may never be. I think you’re right, it’s sink or swim time.
I think we all expected him to join the team last season before floundering — maybe it was just the injured back and he’s better now; maybe he sucks at baseball and was exposed. It’s time to find out and I’m very excited to watch him play. Colorado makes sense for what another poster said, bad pitching + hitter friendly conditions, but I mighta liked to see it at home. The hitting conditions are good here now too.

now the question is: when will Wilfred Veras debut? I definitely thought that guy was making the majors before Elko. Or Kath. I’m just glad Monty the Elder is making the league before Monty the Younger or specifically before Bonemer or Bergollan.

the guy is gonna rock

I'd be surprised if Wes Kath is in the organization next year. Wilfred Veras seems topped out at AA.

I think Jacob Gonzalez heads the next group of dudes who start to seep up next season. Galanie, Nishida and Caden Conner are also in that group. William Bergolla. Maybe Antonacci, B. Monty and Nick McClain catch up to them next August.

Wes Kath, man that dude flamed out after a promising start.
