Soxfest
Finally caught a break for all this losing. Harold Baines brought some luck as former #1 pick. Edited Tuesday at 11:51 PM by Soxfest

The projected slot value for 1.1 would be at least $11.5M. Skenes has the highest bonus record at $9.2M (with 1.1 pick slot value at $9.7M in 2023). Even if Roch smash that record and gets $11M, that still leaves us some room to work with.

One is darkness and despair , the other light and hope. Which one wins ? The one you feed. Another good thing for the Sox since Pope Bob was chosen. Heck Yea !!! Timmy U
Roch has to be the favorite but Grady Emerson is also a mega-prospect. Lefty swinging shortstop from the Dallas area who does everything well. One scout said the only downside on his card is that Emerson isn't quite as good at the same age as Bobby Witt Jr. So, good year to be picking #1. 4

They lost 100 games in 2023. Hahn, KW and especially JR's which it will continue to be until the Ishbia's take over. However, there can be incremental improvements for the next few years regardless of that and labor impasses.

I think Emerson could be the pick but I really prefer a college guy if Roch can play like he did last season. Bonus points: another MLB player from my high school and the best prospect it's produced since Terrell Suggs (or 4th rounder Bellinger if you prefer). chitownsportsfan
Not sold on the Roch guy but if nothing else looks like a good thing to have a "safe" option on the board heading into the prep and college season. Not a fan of drafting an average athlete at SS but it's not like Jeter was a quick twitch guy so obviously you can have a helluva career at SS regardless. And if a story is behind a paywall (and the Sun-Times stopped doing that two years ago) this website doesn't look kindly on copying and pasting something that has to be paid for. One of the mods can correct me if I'm wrong about this. Edited Wednesday at 01:10 AM by Lip Man 1

DoUEvenShift
The first Sox game after Cholowsky was born was a walk off winner. Down 3-0 going into the 9th the Sox rallied with a couple homers from Pauly, JD, and a winning sac fly from our shortstop Uribe. It was meant to be. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA200504060.shtml 1
