4 hours ago4 hr If you think he can't be forced to learn more at AAA, fine I guess.I'd be shocked to see him succeed right away with his current profile.

4 hours ago4 hr Who's the random lefty reliever getting DFA off the 25 and/or 40 man today? As for Braden, he can clearly offer more than Nishida. Can he offer more than Perreria? That I don't know and it's a bit puzzling to do this now unless Perreria had another setback, we'll see.

But even though his GB and K rates are high, he's hitting the ball hard, taking walks and some of those hard hit GB are going through the infield. Plus he's getting to pitches on the outside half now much better than he was.Being on the safe side would be saying you expect him not to succeed right away. But just to clarify, how much time until you think he adjusts ? Right away seems like a very short period (like 1 day ) unless you define it as some reasonable length before you think "right away" will be over . Edited 4 hours ago4 hr by CaliSoxFanViaSWside

4 hours ago4 hr So cool, I befriended one of his family members before the draft and it’s the nicest family ever.

3 hours ago3 hr I know almost everyone wants them to go for it the rest of the way, but I love the idea of getting BMont experience in 2026 so he’s ready to go when baseball resumes next year. This year has been a great surprise, and it feels like the timeline to contend has moved up from 2028 to 2027.
3 hours ago3 hr They're really throwing him right into the fire with the teams we'll be playing the next 2 weeks. At the very least, it'll be interesting.
3 hours ago3 hr I think there is something to be said about bringing him up and have him part of this clubhouse and around the core guys. He will take his lumps but he will adjust

I gave mine why I think he will. Why is it so bad to ask him how long adjusting will take since he said he'll need time longer than right away ? I never claim to be able to predict the future with stats I just do it based on very minor things and gut.I'm going out on a limb so with his knowledge he should too. It's very ambiguous what he said. Why do you feel the need to get involved ?

If it's "an OPS that begins with an 8," I'd agree. If it's "do more than Nishida" then I'll bet on success.Just odd to me to bring him up for a series with two lefty starters. He has been far more dangerous at AAA against righthanded pitching.

I don't think he has too much left to prove in the minors, and maybe working with a talented group of hitters in Chicago will do more than anything else.
3 hours ago3 hr I wonder who goes down/DFA. I predict Nishida goes down and McDougal moves to the 60 day IL. (Could also be Shane Smith)
