Acuna is turning out to be a fine bench piece. His speed will come in handy down the stretch. (Albeit he's no Billy Hamilton)

Acuna’s lack of options and terrible start really doesn’t make him very desirable as a trade piece. It’s awesome he has come around for the Sox and they have begun to use him in a way that doesn’t expose him and gets the best out of him, it’s the best outcome for the Sox this season. I just don’t see him being moved at all

There's nobody else than can cover SS and CF as the backup. He's perfect in the 26th man role. He stunk as a starting CF. One of my comps when he was acquired was Leury. That looks about right.

I don't think the regular lineup could handle replacing a righty for yet another lefty, it's already way too lefty-heavy as-is.

Not to mention, Meidroth is on a 3 WAR pace (a bit better actually). Plays good defense, gets on base, consistent... basically everything we've wanted in a 2B for the last decade. I don't understand the board's obsession with wanting to trade him, unless it's more about Roch/Bonemer (the latter might not be good enough defensively to play infield anyway)

Even if Antonacci replaces Chase at 2B, he can still be an incredibly valuable 10th man who serves as the backup at multiple spots. I don’t see the allure in trading him.

This has always been the big issue with it. The return was complete ass. He should have been part of a deal for a major leaguer. You're telling me a 1st round pick, left-handed SS with big power potential and 6 years of control could only bring back a fucking 34th pick? He should have been a big piece in a trade for a starter. It's a complete dogshit trade.

Yea I understand that. Just don’t know if trading him for the comp pick for Thome was the best option. I would rather have him spot starting around the infield and DH and instead of keeping Acuna on the roster and/or if they insisted on trading him do it for something that could help them sooner rather than a draft pick that won’t be up for 3-4 years.
