I love the Peters story. There's something extra awesome about a guy who defies expectations for an extended period of time. It's absolutely the best part of baseball.

Hope he pulls a Quintana and parlays a little good luck at the start into sustainable very-goodness.

Pretty crazy. Savannah Banana to MLB All-Star. Already locked up his MLB insurance and pension for life. Crazy thing is he is still young enough at 26 to make some big bucks.

With his plus defense, I do not see why he should not be a long term answer in CF.

Like even if he bats 250 with a 700 ops for the remainder of his control he's one of the top acquisitions this team has ever made

I agree 100%. I think Home Run Derby is stupid under any circumstance. But coming off of injury? Gracious.

And you have a whole slate of pitchers who will assess how their shoulders feel Sunday afternoon. Could be more.

I have not seen any evidence that there will be substantial "regression" in Peters offense. Sometimes Peters will hit a line drive or grounder for an out but more often than not he is seeing the ball and putting a good cut on it. Great eye / hand coordination - a skill that the best contact hitters share.
