He’s horrible…it’s ridiculous he’s in the majors

It sucks that as reliever the guy pretty much sits at 94-95 mph. What the f*** happened to his stuff?

Gonna be there all three. I get fired up for this series. I hate the Cubs. Our teams play the same sport--in the same league--in the same city. As far as I'm concerned if you grew up here and that

I don't really have complaints with any of Will's decisions in this one. I think his only options were Hagen, Brazoban, and Fedde in the 10th. You needed to minimize the chance of contact. Hagen was the right dice roll IMO. Have to pitch to PCA because Hagen is too wild to give them a free runner. He walks righties way more than lefties. PCA sat slider and got one. Oh well.

You pitch Brazoban and walk PCA. You let the best player in the NL beat you with an open base.

Yeah his fastball is average at best now. Horrible, horrible draft pick.

That was the first hit he’s surrendered. Threw yesterday as well. The patience around here is crazy short.

Has there ever been a Three True Outcomes pitcher?

This bullpen is never going to survive another six weeks with 2 1/2 starting pitchers.

That game was doomed as soon as hicks gave it up. The bullpen is toast. It just is what it is.

Hot take

Will was A-OK losing that game given the next two games will be heavy pen work. You’ve gotta work with what your gotta work with.

Should have had Acuna running in the 9th or bunted him over. That was a big mistake and solely on him. Rogers botching the challenges isn’t on him, but doesn’t help that guys continue to burn them on horrible calls early in games like Antonacci did tonight.

Oh well. We played like absolute s%*# in this game, had every piece of luck go against us, bullshit umpiring, only managed four hits, had like zero bullpen pitchers and they still needed a 9th inning rally and a walkoff to win. Get em tomorrow and stop throwing strikes to PCA.

He walks an absurd amount of guys. You’ve seen him pitch, he’s had a horse shoe up his ass to get through innings.

I'm disappointed at how wild he is combined with how underwhelming his stuff looks. He doesn't look like a major leaguer to me currently.

He’s pointless to this roster or any roster if he’s just as easily going to walk a guy as opposed to striking them out.

Some of the overreactions on this thread are embarrassing. You'd think we had just lost our hundredth game. Flush it and win tomorrow. We should hit Gausman like a piñata.

Insanely poor managing game from Will. Wtf was that?

Agreed, but the problem is who you will be pitching the next two games is bad. Sox need a rain out badly.

Just another game where the catcher kills the Sox. Has happened so much this year. He’s truly awful

Fucking Teel can't stay healthy

Unless you're just ignoring Brazoban's entire season of work with the Mets.

Or blowing Red Sox extra game overrides that?

I'm still pissed at Rogers not challenging that pitch to Bregman. He even fucking paused to think about it and did nothing about it. Then he challenged out of frustration on the next pitch that wasn't a strike. That changed the Bregman AB and also took us out of challenging the last pitch to Happ.

The Sox have to do better with challenges. It's costing us games.

This. Absolutely fucking this.

I actually agree. We were kind of fucked there no matter what cause we didn't score in the top half of the inning. Might as well hope Hagen strikes 3 guys out.

I like Will but he made some costly mistakes tonight. Shake it off and get at it tomorrow

And that’s the big issue

The 2nd inning in his first outing yes. But other than that he’s been good. Every reliever isn’t going to be perfect. Sure he walks to many but he also k’s a lot of guys. It’s why this was his 5th appearance before he surrendered a hit. Also 3 of his six walks came in one inning.

Hagen=2020 Rodon out of the pen

Minus the fastball

Manager Will wet the bed again. Dumb and dumber today than usual. How does he massage his way through not intentionally walking the NL MVP who is hotter than hell at the plate will be laughable to hear at the least.
