No Beni for you? I guess that hurts the D if you DH him and move Grichuk to RF but I guess his OPS is higher than Grichuk and Braden's.

I would be A-OK with Grich in RF and Beni at DH. Toyed with doing it in my lineup. Beni has been ice cold tho (not that Braden hasn't), and obviously Braden should be in there against RHP most of the time (but definitely should be sitting vs. LHP at this point for ROS).

The demise of Mune is baffling and just doesn't make sense. If the baseball gods owe us anything I would wish for Mune to get hot the last 13 games of the season.

The Sox enter the series just a 1/2 game up on the Guardians. Winning at least one game is absolutely essential. If we go 1-2, we’ll be tied in the loss column, but will have secured the season tie-breaker. While the Guardians would technically be up 1/2 a game on us, we’d effectively be up 1/2 game like we are today due to the tie breaker. At minimum, we can’t leave Cleveland without at least securing one W.

If we can somehow leave the series with at least one W, we do have an easier schedule to end the season. Both teams play three games against KC on the road. Both teams play bottom three teams at home with us getting the Rockies and the Guardians getting the A’s. The big difference is we have four games against the Tigers at home while the Guardians have three in Boston. Obviously you still have to play the games and Sox aren’t playing well right now, but every little edge matters at this point.

Finally, we really need to come out focused tonight. This is the game we have the best shot of winning IMO. Burke has had two stinkers in his three starts and appears to be wearing down, but remains our most talented SP and the guy I’d put out there in a win or die moment. Williams is obviously very good, but the Sox face two lefties who have dominated us this season the next two games. It really feels like if you don’t win tonight, then you’ll be facing an uphill battle the rest of the series. Venable must do everything in his power to win the game tonight.

Already did that this weekend with all the college/pro football and even FIBA World Cup bb lol.

Can't resist not following...but also can't watch for 2 1/2 to 3 hours straight.

At least there was Saturday night.

So Chiefs and Sox...whichever is most compelling. Most likely Sox game will be decided by then anyway.

Nothing is cake the way they are playing. They are playing like one of the worst teams in the league

If the Sox get out to a quick lead — optimistic I know — I wonder whether they would start deploying the other lefty relievers and make it a de facto bullpen game in an effort to go all out to secure the one win. If all goes smoothly on the pitching side, could get 2 or 3 from Newcomb, then 2 or 3 from Hagen against this very lefty/switchy lineup. And if they want to start using the pinch hitters, that's okay we can bring in Burke et al.
