He has less experience than a kid in HS? What are you even going on about?

Was Caleb Bonemer drafted from high school or college?

Do those NCAA picks have more game experience than the high school picks? Pretty obviously. NCAA ball is usually comped to being the equivalent of High A...especially the ACC and SEC.

Well, generally the preps spend an extra 1 1/2 to 2 years in the minors to equalize it.

I argued over and over and over again Braden wasn't ready...a number of people disagreed.

We shall see how he bounces back next year.

This loss was on Will. Starting Murphy instead of Davis and gifting 3 runs to the Guardians in the 1st inning.

  • I don’t think anyone is mad at him. Rather he shouldn’t have been put in that position.

If Doyle had not been pinch hit for by Braden, Peters could have been in left instead of Antonacci. The game ends on Rochios's at bat when Peters catches that ball. Doyle had 2 hits already and Braden

So your whole argument isn't where is he TODAY, it is where was he years ago? Uh sure. I guess by this logic, Luis Castillo was a great find!

What the hell is going on in this thread?

Back on track:

Beat the piss out of Cleveland tonight.

Will's lineup is ass cheeks tonight though.

Luckily so is Cleveland's. Find a way to win.

DeLauter and Martinez aren’t in their lineup tonight. This is a game the Sox need to have with Messick going tomorrow.

I can't wait for the Acuna hero moment

Not sure what people expect. Everyone has been bitching about Colson bringing us down and how bad Braden is vs left handed pitchers, who else do we have to put in the lineup? I understand Teel a bit but He is also coming off a few injuries and probably shouldn't be playing every day at this point and I am sure he will come in later in the game for an AB or two

Foster Griffin has been almost as bad as Castillo has been for us. Need a W

Martin vs. Griffin on the mound.

Winning yesterday was absolutely HUGE for our post season chances. We are now effectively up 2.5 games on the guardians with 12 to go. If we can somehow split the next two, that would put us in a tremendous spot to win the AL Central.

For context, if we split the next two and then the Guardians went 6-3 down the stretch, that would put them at 83-79 on the season. The Sox would only need to go 5-5 the rest of the way to match their record and win the division.

Additionally, we have the tiebreakers over Toronto & Texas, which puts us up 3 1/2 & 4 games on them respectively. Obviously we shouldn’t be excited about limping into the final wild card spot, but it’s admittedly a good safety net that hopefully gets some of the young players to stop pressing. More importantly, we remain 2 games up on the Astros for the #2 seed but they have the tie-breaker.

All that said, today is another vitally important game. Of the two remaining, this one feels more winnable than tomorrow. I think Griffin can get got to. I want every RH hitter in the lineup today and take out as many Montgomery’s as possible. In fact, this is what I want to see:

  1. Meidroth, 2B

  2. Grichuk, RF

  3. Vargas, 3B

  4. Murakami, 1B*

  5. Quero, DH

  6. Doyle, CF

  7. Peters, LF*

  8. Rogers, CA

  9. Acuna, SS

Not pretty by any means, but I’ll take my chances. Antonacci, Benintendi, & Teel should replace Doyle, Quero, & Rogers as soon as the bullpen dictates. Again, keep Colson & Braden out of this one altogether and hope we have more competitive at-bats.

Most importantly, we got to hope that Martin can bring it. The lineup doesn’t matter if Davis turns into a pumpkin. He’s posted a great ERA since coming back (0.84), but it’s been mostly smoke & mirrors. He needs to find a way to strike guys out or the results won’t last. Let’s pray he figures that out and can keep us alive for five or six.

Let’s fucking go!!

The actual starting lineup isn't too far off what you wanted to see.

Only thing I'd have rather seen is Teel in it.

IMO Will should simply bench all the bad hitters but also not play the other bad hitters.

It’s not that hard!

He was running pretty hard last night, he's finally getting a bit of a rhythm at the plate I'd hate to lose him again. He should get a PH AB I'd imagine tonight.

White Sox have a lefty opener so these guys can easily be in the game early. Just like our lefties will be at some point

Earn your fucking stripes today Doyle and let’s run Griffin off the mound quickly so we can get Teel up to the dish soon!

Tigers fans and Mariners fans had WS aspirations and won't even sniff the playoffs without going on a 11 game winning streak to end it. So I'm going to try and enjoy these last two weeks. I think I personally passed the point where the downside of a collapse is less than the fun of just being in it night to night, game to game.

Tigers have suddenly gotten hot again. Winners of seven of 10. You talk about an up and down club.

Cliche but it's so much easier down the stretch when you're playing free and loose that far back. Athletics playing better too lately and they've been out of it since that stretch after the ASB.

Which is exactly why the four game set starting Thursday makes them dangerous, especially depending on what they do and what the Sox do the next few days. Six out now to start the day.
