6 hours ago6 hr Ozzie and Don were instrumental to ending the curse. Just think about this. A pitching rotation made up of Mark Buehrle, Jose Contreras, Jon Garland and Freddy Garcia. You could say Garcia and Buehrle were about as expected, as both were legit starting pitchers prior to '05. But Contreras and Garland came out of nowhere. Then there was turning that bullpen of mostly unknowns and washed up has beens into a revolving door into Hell. I mean, s%*#, Dustin Hermanson was THE guy in the pen, and then they lose him for the season right before the playoffs and it's like "eh, we got the big boi!" and Bobby just goes out there casually throwing 102 mph fastballs. That's not even mentioning Don and co. pulled off something that hadn't happened since the 1920's, and might never happen in major league baseball ever again. 4 consecutive complete games in the playoffs. The stuff of legends.

5 hours ago5 hr Somebody did an interview with him in the last year or so. He seemed like a great guy was really appreciated having the opportunity to talk baseball. He even thanked the interviewer at the end, telling him to call him anytime to talk some more. 70 is way too young. May he rest in peace.
