Is it true Pujols, Reyes and Mark are considering Oz's Marlins?

Not meant to flame, but this proves what a joke that poll was a few years ago that said Oz was the most hated manager by players in the game.

Bulls***.

Last I checked, they didn't sign anyone yet. At this point, any time an FA gets an offer, they will probably consider it.

The only evidence of anyone "loving" their visit is Reyes.

All of this is done in order to get fans excited and see that the Marlins are trying and willing to spend money. That franchise has hurt their fan base numerous times by blowing up World Series teams in a matter of months. Unless they're willing to spend money consistently, they will never have a steady fan base.

Anytime the Miami Marlins hit a home run, this feature will light up in Miami.

It's like a Lisa Frank design on meth.

Along with the aquarium backstop, that stadium is on Meth.

I wonder if that was incorporated into the plans after Guillen was hired, or if it was already there, and it inspired them to hire Guillen. Whichever it is, there is no way the two aren't somehow related.

Source: Dbacks and 2B Aaron Hill agree to terms on a two-year deal worth a little north of $10 million.

If he's the DBacks version of Aaron Hill that's a real good deal. If he's the last year or 2 torotno version, it won't b.e

Rockies show an interest in Sizemore

The Denver Post

The Rockies continue to cast a wide net as they attempt to ramp up their offense, expressing interest in free-agent outfielder Grady Sizemore.

Sizemore, who has spent his entire career with the Indians, is one of the most intriguing names on the market, a high- risk, high-reward player because of his injury history. Looking to improve their lineup, the Rockies recently initiated trade talks with Atlanta regarding second baseman Martin Prado.

Colorado isn't expected to move forward aggressively on Sizemore until exhausting its options on Prado. Atlanta is seeking outfield help, and has interest in the Rockies' Seth Smith. Moving him could create a spot for the left-handed hitting Sizemore.

A three-time all-star, Sizemore has played center field exclusively in his career. The Rockies are committed to Dexter Fowler at position, and it's unclear if Sizemore is open to playing elsewhere. Sizemore has several suitors, among them the Athletics, Red Sox and Mets.

Once the face of the Cleveland franchise, Sizemore hit just .224 with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs in 71 games last season. He has undergone multiple knee surgeries. Known for his hustle and intensity, Sizemore ranked among baseball's best players from 2005-09, averaging 69 extra- base hits a season.

He represents a bounce- back candidate similar to Lance Berkman, a player the Rockies attempted to sign last winter before he chose the Cardinals. ESPN's Jim Bowden, a former general manager of the Nationals, predicted Sizemore would receive a one-year, $5 million contract this winter.

There is enormous skepticism around MLB about Marlins' offer to Pujols. He would cost them $25m+; highest payroll in their history is $60m.

He'll surely cut his demands to roughly 1/3 of that in order to play for Ozzie. Hell, I'm sure he'd pay the Marlins for the chance to have a beer with Guillen.

Execs forecasting 5-year deal for C.J. -- maybe 6

0 minutes ago by JonPaulMorosi

Interest in free-agent starter C.J. Wilson has been heavy despite his disappointing postseason, sources say.

An official with one of the involved clubs predicted that the left-hander would get “at least five years” with an option for a sixth year; an official of another club told FOXSports.com that Wilson could end up with a six-year deal.

In other words, Wilson, who turns 31 this week, appears likely to surpass the five-year, $82.5 million guarantees received by John Lackey and A.J. Burnett in recent years.

The Yankees, Angels, Blue Jays, Marlins, Nationals, and Rangers are among the teams that have already expressed interest in Wilson, sources say.

One executive who’s in the market for pitching seemed to capture the industry sentiment when he said, “It should be a four-year deal, but I bet he gets more. It just takes one club.”

Wilson has been a starting pitcher for only the past two seasons, going 31-15 with a 3.14 ERA and 1.215 WHIP in 427 1/3 innings. He outperformed Burnett and Lackey over the two years approaching their free agencies by a fairly wide margin.

Some have suggested that Wilson’s performance over the past two postseasons – 1-5 with a 4.82 ERA in 10 games – would dampen interest in his services. But he actually has a 2.95 ERA in four career World Series games and seems likely to get a larger guarantee than fellow left-handed free agent Mark Buehrle, who is 20 months older.

The Angels are seen by some as a natural fit for Wilson, because of his California roots. But Wilson’s agent, Bob Garber, said recently, “C.J. lived in Manhattan last off-season – he’s very familiar with the lifestyle there. Yes, he’s a California guy who’s played in Texas, but I don’t think the region is going to be a factor in where he wants to play.”
