  1. Palka love is one of the stranger White Sox fan memes.

  2. It's your hyperbole that makes you such a douche.

  3. It would be a better, more watchable team, if they made about 5 roster changes now- Eloy, Mendick, Collins, Cease, and maybe Kubat or Lambert.

  4. Castillo needs to follow Yonder right out the door and off the roster.

  5. Your argument here seems to be "some people here think Madrigal is going to be bad but the sample size doesn't support drawing an accurate conclusion. BUT, because people do this, I can use it to justify a sample size of 1000 PA for Moncada to predict his entire career with absolute certainty." The fact is, the sample size is not nearly large enough to support any statistical predictions. And on top it of all, you make toss in your personal "I don't think" predictions based on whatever you feel supports your narrative. Go away.

  6. This is not something you could ever possibly predict. But yet you say it with absolute certainty. This is why people bait you.

  7. White Sox fans have always had a strange fascination with big white dues that hit homers and suck at baseball. I blame Bridgeport.

  9. Why Castillo was anywhere near the batter's box in the ninth inning is beyond me.

  11. He was injured (ankle I think), missed a game, came back, realized it wasn't fully healthy, and now is taking a few days off to fully recover

  12. I hope that's the last memory there for Nicky. I hope. I've thought the same for many guys the last 3 years, but like roaches, they just come back.

  13. Yonder has achieved Adam LaRoche suck levels at this point.

  15. Dude has an OPS above .870 right now and there is nothing flukey about his numbers based on the quality of his contact. Sounds like you may need to go back to high school cause your understanding of basic math appears to be broken.

  16. It’s .886 right now. So, yeah, If say it’s in the realm of possibilities.

  17. dude be quiet you're incredible abrasive and predicting things like your all knowing isn't going to help your cause. You do realize that Yoan has an OPS over 880 TODAY AS I TYPE After like 30% of the season? You do realize he's still 23?

  18. I've seen more bad than good from Herrera of late to even give him that benefit of doubt. He sucks.

  19. Pretty disrespectful and excessive from Grichuk there. Lay the bat down after a meaningless popout in May instead of slamming it on the ground.

  20. Why not keep Leury in CF and give Mendick a chance at 2nd?

  21. What I was saying is that people without a plus fastball always have to prove it. With his track record, if Keuchel were throwing 93, he'd have a contract right now. Pilkington, similarly, is going to have to prove it and keep proving it. May not be fair, but that's the way it is.

  22. That and, in the world series for example, when there is that stand up to cancer moment where everyone is standing for a couple minutes. As Bill Burr once said, "there's a time and place for that." Like are we not aware already?

  23. memorial day weekend is now a month apparently. as if the troops don't get enough support every day. sick of military shit in sports.

  24. He misses on his fastball out over the plate at a disturbing rate.

  25. Also, in terms of the Palka question, he is not an OF option as this point, full stop. And if we’re opening a spot at 1B or DH by DFAing Alonso, give the job to Collins who has a much better shot of being a long term fixture. Palka had his opportunity this year and completely fell on his face. He’ll need a lot of injuries or trades to re-enter the mix IMO.

  26. So you're saying you think Reinsdorf had something to do with the train's scheduling Just to have people drive and park in the parking lots ? Wouldn't it make more sense to have more fans buying more tickets and then also buying concessions ?

  27. They waited three hours and it was still raining. You take the rain shortened win and don't even give the Jays a chance in the final four innings. Works perfectly fine for me.

  29. The Fangraphs update just gave Moncada a huge bump defensively. He is now at a -0.1 defensive rating, way up from ~ -3, and 14th in baseball (among 3B). As a result, he is currently sitting at 1.6 fWAR and is on pace for about 5.8 fWAR. I was against moving him to 3B originally, but I want him to stay there now.

  32. Which is frustrating as fuck. Guys have bad stretches and clearly he’s in one of those right now. But Ricky gonna Ricky and just roll with the same old same old each & every day.

  33. The thing that frustrates me about Herrera isn’t his recent suckage, but the fact Ricky keeps rolling him out in high leverage situations. Until he gets his shit together, may use in the middle innings so he’s not killing us?

  37. I don't have to write a column; I can just show you a spreadsheet with his career rates and adjusted k-rates, and even at optimistic rates, he doesn't hit .300. But thanks for thinking of me.

  39. Well, that's what happens when a guy doesn't have that plus fastball. Gotta prove it all the time. Look at Dallas Keuchel.

  40. I am honestly amazed how quickly players are stuck with this label. Delmonico hit very well his rookie year, but struggled in an injury riddled season. BAM. 4A player for eternity. Same for Palka after he showed amazing power and was one of the best in baseball in exit velocity. The Cardinals have shown time and time again how well some players are capable of playing that haven‘t been top prospects by any stretch of the imagination. Let‘s give these guys a chance, especially in a season that‘s another non-competitive year.

  42. Unless you can sign Keuchel to a 1 year deal to fill out hole, I say hard pass. We are gonna have a log jam with the rotation next year and I dont want a veteran blocking anyone.

  43. Three athletic superfreaks. I agree with you bmags, if the player development sucks, it might not be a bad idea to gamble on guys who have so much talent that they might be able to overcome it on their own. That’s not to say we should pass on Vaughn, I just think this idea we shouldn’t draft a young, athletic HS kid because Courtney Hawkins was a bust is ridiculous.
