2027 Rotation
I thought it was the Sox who wanted to reshape a pitch to keep hitters off of a different pitch, at least that's what I remember

Tampa bay's team is literally built for its ballpark. Just like ours. I want to see us be better with RISP but the approach is good. It needs tweaking.

Not their day so far. GB never to be underestimated at Lambeau.

2027 Rotation
Youre right. And I think that did Schultz a disservice. All of those short starts in the minors were to protect him and handle innings but when he got up to the bigs and struggled after a few innings everyone wondered why. I thought in order for them to be a "surprise" team in 2026 one of either Scultz or Smith would have to have a breakout year as a starter. That didnt happen but nothing says it won't next year.

I highly doubt there will be any coaching changes this year. They just made a bunch last year and they made the playoffs.

80 swings and only 9 in play. Ultra pathetic. Nauseating. Unacceptable. Why should I care what the bloody cubs do or don’t do?

You also have those four teams in the Top 8 in ERA...along with Yankees Red Sox Braves etc. Also, Tigers in terms of their pitching and RS/RA should have been the playoff team from the Central.

The downfall of Jaylon has been such a bummer to witness.

A message to all the bare chested howlers out there. Looks like Green Bay doesn’t suck today.

For leading the AL in runs scored? Did the Cubs fire theirs?

The top three teams in batting average this season: Milwaukee Tampa Bay Los Angeles RISP? Milwaukee #1. LAD #3. TBR #4. Tampa struck out the least number of times. LA 4th least. This is likely the world series matchup... Getting hits and not striking out is still really important. I am also not sure why walking and getting hits are mutually exclusive things, either. Not every swing needs to be for the fences. The White Sox approach sucks.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Let’s not get this thread locked. It’s one of the few pure sources of fun here, at least for some of us

2027 Offense
You’re panicking on Braden way too soon IMO. I also think Bonemer will be up by May or June and filling in at multiple spots, which will provide a good hedge for both the IF & OF. I’d definitely bring Grichuk on a one year deal though. I’d also go with Bart as the backup catcher over Romo depending on cost. Quero should also be in the mix if he can undo what changes he made last offseason.

2026 Appreciation Thread
In the end we just didn’t have the horses to get the job done. We knew this wasn’t a great team as there were just too many holes, no power in the outfield with Braden being called up too early, losing Austin Hays at the beginning of the year hurt, he was a seasoned pro with a decent bat who played very good defense. The starting pitching was always suspect but the relievers did a great job in the second half. We never had a decent back up catcher and with Teel out most of the year we had a lousy catching situation. Enough has been said and written about Venable so I won’t say anything more. Because of these shortcomings I always expected some kind of letdown but to their credit they hung in there until the last 3 games, all in all it was a fun year from a team that I expected to win 75 games tops so in that respect it was a pretty successful season.

Fire Jerry Reinsdorf's Physician
In 2034 (when Ishbia's option kicks in), he'll actually be 98. He turns 91 in a few months (February), but he looks like he's 75. He apparently told Bossard this year that he wants to keep doing this for another 10 years. More power to him if he's able to stay mentally and physically healthy until he's 100, but I hope he decides he's ready to hand things over to the next guy in 2029. Maybe once they get a deal done for a new stadium.

While they K a lot, they also take a lot of walks. Seems that it wouldn't me insurmountable to shift some of the thinking of the current roster to more contact instead of swinging for the fences. Colson absolutely must do that, or he'll end up as an infielder Palka. This sub .300 obp stuff is ridiculous- Fire Derek Shomon
People need to watch the Joey Votto clip explaining why. Furthermore, a .300 average without slug or OBP is worthless.- Fire Derek Shomon
Seven qualifying batters hit over .300 this year. .316 was the batting title. It's just not how the game is played anymore.- Fire Derek Shomon
For people concerned about batting average: the Toronto Blue Jays were second in the AL in batting average. They also hit 162 home runs. We all know the end of that. White Sox were near the league average in batting average. - Fire Derek Shomon
