I think with LRJ the main issue is that $2M buyout. I don’t think a team is going to want to pay that on top of the rest of his salary for the season. That, and he’s just a ticking time bomb for another injury. Sure he’s playing well now, but it’s likely he’ll have another lower body injury before the end of the season or during the postseason if a playoff team claims him. It makes sense that the Mets would put him on waivers. I think though that they’ll end up having to pay the rest of his deal, they’ll end up buying him out, and he’ll have to find another team that’s willing to take him on in free agency (probably a team like the Angels or Rockies). It will probably end up being a 1 year, $2 million or something.
