If this team hits the time when their lease runs out, under new ownership, and it has been 20 years of them losing and they're drawing worse than the A's, and the entire generation under 20 has known the White Sox as losers they don't care about, then it could darn well happen and that will be the final legacy of Rick Hahn. So...he better darn well win something with the guys he traded for, because if he didn't, if things in 2 years look as rough as they do now, that's where this franchise will be in 7-10 years, talking about moving because they no longer have a fanbase after such an incredible streak of losing.

I guess asking for a "winning" percentage of .292 was asking for too much from this collection of losers. So we played .250 ball for virtually the whole month of September. A fitting end to the season, since we played .250 ball to start the year. Several people mentioned that Moncada improved his numbers in September, but that was dismissed by others as coming against other teams' garbage (September call-ups). I guess if you play .250 ball in September (as the Sox did), that must mean that their garbage is better than our garbage.

I agree . But he also played 54 games last year and had his struggles. He should have learned something last year and worked harder in the offseason.

Yes, this team is a joke. 2019 will be worse than 18 unless they make massive changes. Fire Hahn, KW, Renteria, Coop (great coach but statement needs made), trainers, to start. Sign a real GM who can build his own staff. There's some minor league depth , but many are injured/not ready. It really wouldnt be hard to make this team competitive of they signed decent free agents , made some trades as 50% of the teams are in rebuild mode. We will have another top 5 pick, And lots of $ to spend. No excuse not to be in 2nd place next year, and oh yeah, the Hahn era has cost the Sox billions in revenue from ticket/merchandise sales and radio/tv deals due to lack of interest in a shit team

I would like to congratulate Rick Hahn on his 5th consecutive 4th place finish in the AL Central. His first season as a GM they finished 5th, but you could probably blame that on injuries to Jeff Keppinger. the AL Central, not exactly a who’s who of $150 million payrolls, and in 6 seasons, 4th out of 5 is the best he can do..

Literally no one on this team of professional players will differentiate losing 99 vs 100 games. The tank should be back on and we need the #3 pick.

My goal for the White Sox this year is to lose fewer than 100 games. Why? - psychologically, the record looks less horrific when the losses are not in triple digits. Teams with 100+ losses are treated with as much disdain as the teams that WIN 100+ are glorified. - fewer than 100 losses puts a better spin on the progress of the rebuild. - dropping from 3rd to 5th or 6th in the draft is insignificant. You'll still get a quality player (assuming the Sox know what they're doing). This year's draft had players picked late in the first round that many "experts" felt had top 10 talent. The chances of losing less than 100 games looked very promising after the Bosox series. With 24 games to go, we needed to go a mere 7-17 the rest of the way. But the current 6-game losing streak is making it interesting. Especially since 9 of the remaining games are against Cleveland and the Chubs.

Forbes Magazine said the White Sox are 14th in revenue. As long as that continues the team is staying in Chicago. This 100 loss team is making nothing but money for the owners.

In fact that calendar has a very interesting event on July 1, 1982 that matches up nearly perfectly with what Blasey-Ford described. The prosecutor Republicans brought in to question both parties thought it interesting enough to question Kavanaugh about. Oddly enough, when she started that line of questioning was exactly when Lindsey Graham had his little tirade, and the committee never went back to her after that to finish her line of questioning. Isn't that all very peculiar?

And I think you are grasping at straws in drawing conclusions about memory and trauma without some support. And the “failure to report” argument is so weak. She did tell her therapist that the perpetrator was a federal judge. Anyway, you don’t believe her. Fine. Actually you have four people giving sworn statements. Ford says it happened. Her friend at the time says she was at no such party. Judge says he was never at any such party. Brett says he wasn't at any such party. This isn't he said - she said this is she said everyone else says and actually there were numerous times I didn't find her statements credible, it's just she just wasn't challenged on those beyond just pointing it out. For example she names 4, 6 , and sometimes five people at the party. For example she claimed she had a fear of flying which is clearly false. For example she says the event deeply effected her life but struggles to narrow it down when it happened not by weeks, not by months, not even by a year but by chunks of years first it was the late 80's then it was the early 80's then it was the summer of 82 (92 days). For example she says she is 100% certain it was kavanaugh but is unsure of the time, place, and who else was there. She never mentions Kavanaugh by name to either husband or her therapist. Nor to anyone else for 30 some odd years until now. For example there is no record of her going to the police. Kavanaugh calendar indicates he likely wasn't at a party during the summer in question. I hope the FBI asks her those questions and I also hope she is able to narrow it down to an actual day so Kavabaugh has a chance to respond to her claims other then with blanket denials.

There is some evidence. She passed a polygraph which seemed to be good enough for Kavanaugh when he was writing opinions. She told friends and therapists well before he was considered for the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh has lied about his drinking. Lied about the meanings of phrases in his yearbook. Why? The problem with this investigation is the public is only going to see what Trump wants us to see. So if anything comes up, the nomination will be quietly withdrawn. I really am interested in seeing results of the testing of his calendar. Supposedly they can determine how old the ink is on each entry. If he fucked with that anytime since 1982; that may be a problem for him if it ever got out. i do think nothing will come of it because while they are conducting an investigation, it is partisan investigation. I think the level it would have to get to in a week for Trump to pull him isn’t really possible. But I believe the woman. I know for a fact Kavanaugh lied about other things during his testimony. If he were running for Mayor of Oswego, I might let it slide. But not the Supreme Court, especially when he shows such disgust with democrats. A clip was shown yesterday during his confirmation for his current job. He stressed how important it was for a judge to remain independent. Clearly what comes out of his mouth and what really happens are 2 different things. if he is lying about the small stuff, believing him about the big stuff just because he votes for Republicans is pretty foolish IMO.

The notes of her therapist, statements of the others she told about the assault before he was nominated would also count as evidence. You can also count the strong evidence that he has lied about his history with alcohol and the wide knowledge of the 2nd assault with multiple witnesses as evidence. A sworn statement in the 3rd case would also count as evidence if anyone looked into it.

Her testimony is evidence. Stop saying there isn’t evidence. You have two people giving testimony; one lying, one not. In weighing veracity you look at demeanor and truthfulness throughout. Leaving aside the matter at hand, he lied under oath about drinking habits, at the very least, based on third party witnesses and evaded questions which was shown in a Vox analysis. She didn’t do either. This isn’t a hard call. Also, the committee refused to take other testimony so pointing to a lack of evidence is a dubious argument.

First of all, there isn't any evidence she was a victim you may believe she was but your beliefs do not constitute facts. Two, she was asked about the way in which she reported the assault at no point did she mention wanting to goto the police and file a report. In any case it appears there will be an FBI investigation so we shall see. I doubt anything comes of it unless someone comes forward with new testimony or information.

Rodon , Giolito and Lopez were coming around and the Sox were playing .500 ball for a long stretch.all with a lineup that wasn't very good offensively and defensively. Now Kopech is out for a year Rodon and Giolito have sucked lately and the whole team looks tired and as uninspired we we all do here.

I wasn't caught misrembering anything she mentioned a specific date in her accusation period when she revised her statement which I was unaware of she once again mentioned a specific date. You seem think somehow attacking me makes Ford claims more credible. It doesn't. As far as the rest goes once again the media reported the state did not have a statue of limitations and numerous journalists including Meadow said he could goto jail. If they are wrong then that is unfortunate but that is not my fault I'm not a lawyer I'm only repeating the details I've read elsewhere from mainstream sources but even if the article you posted from the WP is true it still doesn't remove the fundamental question of why she didn't goto the police because she would have been unaware of that nuance in existing law. She made no mention of this in her testimony either infact her statements were the exact opposite of what I was sort of expecting a victim to say she said she went to the media to and her congresswoman to stop Brett Kavanaugh getting to the SC which sounds great at first blush but once you think about it why was that the goal? Shouldn't it been to get justice? Bringing it back to the actual subject the ladies claim once again the facts haven't changed. She can't name the time, can't name the place, can't name all the people involved, can't remember how she got to the event or how she got back. Has changed the timeframe by close to a decade at points and her claims have been refuted by everyone else who she claims to have been involved. Those are the facts whether someone believes miss ford, believes the mumbo jumbo you spouting earlier, doesn't believe kavanaugh, it shouldn't and doesn't matter. We cannot allow accusations without evidence to ruin political careers or destroy people lives that is a return to some of the darkest chapters of American history like McCarthyism.

You couldn't remember the testimony from the Cosby trial and asserted that the accuser could remember the exact date when in fact that was easily proven false. Your entire statement is untrustworthy and you shouldn't be believed based on the standard you set.

How can it come back any differently? She can't name the time. Can't name the place. Can't name the people. The people who she does name don't remember it happening including her own personal friends. Meanwhile Kavanaugh has detailed notes of where and who he was with during the summer including possible corroboration should the timing of this alleged party ever be revealed.

I know what a successful rebuild looks like. This ain't it. Last time they were trying to put a bunch of free agents around 3 quality players: Sale, Q and Eaton. Now they would do it around...what exactly? A few players who may turn out to be good. Both premature.

I don't, but it took roughly 60MM in 2000 to get A-Rod to sign with Texas instead of anyone else. We all know how much he signed for. The next highest bid was 8/196. The team that gave him that offer is why I have a little bit of hope, but again I'll believe it when I see it. The Sox in 2000-2001 were coming of a 95 win season, a division title, the best regular season record in the AL and had the consensus #1 farm system in baseball. That is why I believe they would have to beat the next offer by a lot to get Machado to sign here. The Sox are closer to the Rangers in 2000 than they are to their own situation then. If Harper or Machado sign with the Braves, it should shock nobody. They're closer to the Sox in 2000 than the Sox are.

I literally cannot believe some think it is more important to win 63 games than to get the #3 instead of potentially the #5 or #6 pick. The difference between the #3 and the #6 pick could be a world championship. 100 losses will never be remembered if the Sox get a world series title because of it.

I don’t get this type of thinking... The goal should be to get the highest draft pick possible, so that the Sox can get the best possible players during the draft. The same people who are rooting for the Sox to win these truly meaningless games are the same people who are going to be mad that the Sox for missing out on (Insert Player Here). And there’s a big difference between having the third worst record and the fifth worst record. That affects how much money you have to spend on amateur players in the draft and on J2. And to suggest that the number of losses is indicative of the progress of the rebuild in absolutely insane. What’s so hard to understand about this process?

Records 0-0 to start next year, nobody will be thinking about 100 losses then. Astros had 100 losses, Cubs too.. Twins had a 100 loss season then went on to make the playoffs the next year.

MLB players have sat out game 162 instead of risking their exactly .300 BA going to .299. Professional players are human too, and almost all humans love milestones.
