  1. Motherfucker, you accused me of lying about living in Bridgeport and of fabricating proof. As well as insinuating that I was living in my mother's basement. Yes, you pick fights. Yes, you start s%*#. You troll and then get angry and defensive when called on it, usually resorting to personal attacks, as referenced in my first sentence. You don't speak for Sox fandom, and you don't get to be the arbiter of how to be a fan, FFS.

  2. As an ECU alum I saw Trey Yesavage pitch many times in person. I thought he was a top 10 pitcher that draft. Saw him outpitch Chase Burns in a regional. I really wanted the sox to draft him, he was just more polished than Hagen Smith. Felt like Gavin Williams was the best RHP in the draft a few years ago too. I think sometimes scouts rate a guy higher because they are in the SEC or ACC. But Yesavage is absolutely nasty. 10 Ks through 4 innings in his 4th start in MLB.

  3. If they "understand it" why are fewer fans at any point since 1999 going to games at this location, despite there being parking, Jerry Reinsdorf, and located where they have been since 1910?

  5. You were also upset that posters would be sarcastic and critical of a team that has lost 100+ games over 3 years and set the loss record. The Sox are a terrible team with a terrible owner. It has nothing to do with the age or ethnicity of Sox fans. Are you trying to pretend that south side Irish Sox fans aren’t fed up with the current state of this garbage team? You hate the Cubs and we all know that they are the “Loveable Losers” but you seem to want to ensure that the Sox share that same motto. Finally, why do you rage against anyone and everyone that talks about the Sox being an absolute garbage MLB team rather than the owner of the team Jerry Reinsdorf? He should be the target of your anger. This isn’t rocket science, they are bad for a reason.

  7. I speak in half jest. PT and chiropractic care have different philosophies for treatment. They have a very good specific treatment effectiveness. However, in general patients need to continuously go for treatment to improve symptoms.

  8. Drafting is so important. The difference between getting a #1 starter and a guy who maybe ends up in the pen can get a GM fired. Gotta say, I'm having Yesavage envy right now.

  9. So cool for Yesavage. He started the year in A ball!

  11. Clevinger was paid $1.5 million for 5.2 innings in the majors and a 7.94 ERA this season. That’s over $250,000 per inning pitched. Not bad.

  12. Bill Veeck was still the owner in April, 1980. E&R did not take over until 1981.

  13. I will even tack on to this, Jerry bought the team in April 1980. In his first full (non-strike) season as owner the White Sox averaged 19,316 per game. This year the Sox averaged 17,849. The only teams behind the White Sox? They are playing in literal Minor League ballparks and are looking at potential moves. It's the same location since 1910. It's the same owner since 1980. It's the same park since 1991. Tell me again how all of these things are soooo important to a franchise whose fanbase is shrinking and among the smallest in baseball.

  14. Nope, I’m not angry at all. It has been the status quo for years. Every generation and race of baseball fans hates awful baseball, and the White Sox are awful thanks to their deadbeat owner. It doesn’t take much thought or pontification of other bullshit excuses to realize the truth.

  15. Chiropractor? Bite your tongue. 😀 Cortisone no more than 2 times per year. In the back they usually use inject a prednisone or dexamethisone, less damaging to the area.

  16. Spending $50-60 million in FA alone for next year...??? They'll be fortunate to be at that overall payroll number for a full roster after Robert and/or Benintendi are traded. Granted, the Royals were rich enough to spend significantly more after a 56-106 record two off seasons ago. But they also already had Witt Jr.,Perez, Pasquantino, Singer and Ragans as a core.

  17. That's your opinion. I pick fights? No, but I will hold my own ...and then I know when to disengage with those who always want to have the last word. Now who starts s%*#? Look no further than a recent post in this thread where I wanted to make the point that the culture of Sox fans on the South side has been over a century in the making. Certain groups (like the S Side Irish community) and other ethnic groups took root on the South side and expanded out, largely to the S and SW suburbs. That is where the majority of the fan base is located. The fact is that the White Sox are identified with the South side, Sox fandom and all it entails. It is part of their culture. So the responses to that post immediately attempted to deflect and make it about age...Gen X fans v old fans on Social Security or something ridiculous like that. My point, which was pretty clear, had nothing to do with the age of fans. It did have to do with the long relationship between the White Sox, the location where they have played for 125 years, and where most in the WSox fan base reside. My guess is that most younger fans and even our young announcer understand that.

  18. Simple. Don’t read it then. After three straight 100+ loss seasons with one of them being record setting, what else would you expect?

  20. Finishing my list of Cheapest Organizations I’ve played for. This is also my absolute worst experience playing professional baseball. 1 on My List of Cheapest Organizations: Mexico’s LMB Our story again goes south of the border. brings us to Mexico’s Sultanes de Monterrey. In the LMB, Mexicos version of MLB. I wasn’t expecting the same level as the majors, but even so, the level of “cheap” and what I would consider sub-standard took me by surprise. I started the 2013 season in Monterrey with a full spring training. First of all, the spring training fields were at least a 45 minute drive from the hotel, and we were jammed in the vans well past legal capacity. (If Mexico even has a legal capacity). When we got to the “facility,” it was just open fields. No clubhouse, nothing just dirt, and way too many rocks in the infield to be remotely safe. Shade? Only if you found a tree. Some dugouts didn’t even have a roof. It was brutal. No hiding from the Mexican sun. You might find a table or two with fruit and water, but that was gone in 45 minutes, tops. Occasionally we got sandwiches for lunch, but more often we waited till we got back to the hotel to actually eat. Dinner at the hotel was decent, it was just repetitive, pretty much the same thing everyday rotated between three entrées and you had to be early, or you wouldn’t eat at all. As far as gear, 1 shirt, 1 pair of shorts, and a trucker hat. That was it. The shirt was 100% cotton a midriff by the end of week 1. No spares, no extras, just running it into the ground. Spring training games? We used “official league” balls, but they were more like high school balls. The seams were so high I couldn’t keep my slider in the zone. I remember the pitching coach telling me that I “had to throw it for a strike.” I asked if we’d be using real baseballs for the season. Thank goodness we did. The regular season wasn’t much better. Lockers and training rooms? Dirty and bare and there was definitely mold. Forget about finding anything healthy to eat. In terms of gear, I had one undershirt for the whole season. I did like the uniforms, but apparently, getting a second hat was out of the question. But the cheapest move of all came after they released me. Honestly, I thought I was about to be told I’d made the all-star team when they called me in. Nope—released. And here’s the kicker—they held my passport and kept me in Mexico for another three weeks with no pay. I told them, “If you’re going to keep me here, you’re going to have to pay me.” They didn’t. So I sat in a hotel, basically held hostage, for 24 days, just because they didn’t want to send me home. (For whatever reason) and my agent at the time was absolutely worthless. Seriously I was stuck in mexico and this guys advice was he would pray about it. Pick the Damn phone up Van Horn and get me home. Needless to say I parted ways with him and that agency after that. There’s a lot more. Playing for there was a nightmare. Not just cheapness everywhere, but it felt like literal children were running things. Nothing was ever organized, nothing felt planned, and as players we were often just dropped into dangerous situations or places with zero guidance. It was up to us (me) to just figure it out and survive. Here’s just one example: Before I signed, I specifically asked if I could bring my first wife and child with me to Monterrey for the season. The contact I had said yes, but told me to wait until after spring training. So once I got there, again, I brought it up. That same contact looked me dead in the eye and asked, “Can I see a picture of your wife and child?” Proudly, I showed him. He laughed and goes, “No, don’t bring them here. They’re too pretty. Someone will take them.” I laughed, kind of awkwardly, and said thanks. He looked at me seriously and goes, “No, I mean it. Don’t bring them here they’ll be gone.” Honestly, there’s so much more.

  22. Get better owners and that division among teams would change. Ironic the Rockies owner said that, he's crushing things attendance-wise, making a lot of money yet continues to put out a crap product.

  23. Depending on who they are, and where they ranked, it absolutely could. Also that isn't the only reason the Sox list dropped. Smith and Schultz had pretty awful years too. A year ago Colson was #9. Any system is going to give much heavier weight at the top, vs at the bottom. It's common sense. You don't just count up top 100 guys and equate them equally. The Tigers having #2 and #8 is worth more than the Sox top two guys of #35 and #40, even though they are both in the top 100. Just since the midseason when we were number 17, our top two guys fell in the rankings. despite all of the season's graduations in front of them. The weight is going to be heavier up front.
