  1. In a couple years they will sign a $100 million contract and use it as evidence they’re not what we said they were, all while everyone else in the league has signed $200 million contracts. They will always be 10+ years behind.

  2. I don’t think he’s always been the worst owner. He was at least average for years. But he is horrible now for sure with both teams. Probably is as bad as there is.

  3. 110mph double in his first AB, guess he's healthy 😅 Knocked in Antonacci who singled and stole 2B, then scored on a Caden Connor single.

  4. The Dodgers have the superior bats. I would also give them the SP advantage. This series is going to be brutal for the Jays. Maybe the Jays steal a game, two max.

  5. Ok Jerry sucks, when does Spring Training start?

  6. He has left a lot of money on the table and depreciated the value of his organization by being such a penny pinching dipshit

  8. But he has to stay on the active roster for the team that claims him for 90 days. So you're looking at a team rehabbing him in ST, then somehow working him back immediately into a MLB bullpen to hit the minimum days required. I just can't see it being a possibility with the amount of arms out there that are more likely to be selected and healthier.

  9. I think that is a bonus. Less time on the mlb roster makes it easier to keep him. I think 2 TJS guys were taken in the Rule 5 last year. If you like him, you probably protect. If you question the ceiling and feel he’s replaceable, you roll the dice. I am sort of in between on him cuz I like hard throwers.

  10. I was there to see it. I was hoping he would play in the 2nd game.

  11. Ah Braden hitting XBH. Picking up right where he left off.

  12. zero chance of salary cap, would be stupid to miss the start of a season for something that the players union will never agree to

  13. I don't think any of that counts as baseball income. A lot of teams have built up entertainment around the stadiums and I thought (could be wrong) that this is not counted as baseball income.

  14. This summer, mostly because of the TV deal, I rarely watched a game. Once it was on tv, I still rarely watched a game. I had no idea who made the playoffs. I barely paid attention. If it wasn't because of this community, which I have been a part of for 20 years, Idk if I would have paid attention at all. I used to say that Baseball is your friend. No matter how much it pisses you off one day, it's there tomorrow to start anew. After years of being pissed, I have had enough. I have no intention of watching next year. I have already cut out the Bulls. Wake me up when there is new ownership and a deal to remain in Chicago.

  16. ....and even with that down year, they're still averaging 88 wins per season over the last 5 years in a very tough division.

  17. #1 they were in the best division in baseball in the AL East. #2, they were still 33 games better than the White Sox in 2024. #3, their 2024 was still 14 games better than the White Sox in 2025.

  20. Even more than his hires is sabotaging his own guys even when they are 100% right. What do the Sox look like today if AJ Hinch, Manny Machado, and Bryce Harper had been brought in? These were all stopped by one person, and it wasn't the GM.

  21. I think they may sign a cheap RHH OF that can slide to the bench when Braden comes up. I'm not entirely certain they bring back Tauchman (either non-tender or tender then trade).

  22. I think a Salary Floor is far more attainable and actually makes more sense. 100 million floor. Older veterans will still get reasonable contracts and bad teams wont just "throw away" money on bad players so they'd theoretically be forced to at least sign some guys.

  23. JR doesn't care if he's hated by Bulls/White Sox fans. The only thing he cares about is making money. And he has been very good at making money.

  24. Wait, you’re trying to use the Bears as an argument for why the Sox don’t suck or something?

  25. TBH Jerry is the biggest reason of all to bet against Getz and this franchise as a whole.

  26. Speaking of the A's... In addition to Lawrence Butler ($65.5 million/7 years), they signed designated hitter/outfielder Brent Rooker to a $60 million, five-year contract and right-hander Luis Severino to a team-record $67 million, three-year deal. Extensions for Nick Kurtz and perhaps SS Jacob Wilson are also being considered this offseason. Basically, that's four times the projected 2026 White Sox payroll next midseason.
