  1. See this is where you are mistaken. You would NOT have autonomy to operate however you want. We have complete evidence that Jerry interfere's with day to day operations with his teams.

  2. When Benintendi was signed, he was supposed to be a complimentary player to the core of Abreu, TA, Robert, Jimenez, Moncada, Grandal, and Vaughn, not a cleanup hitter. Most of those had contracts with individual seasons at higher rates of pay of Benintendi. The idea he was signed to be a center piece of the Sox lineup is a rewriting of history. He was supposed to be a solid bat at the back of the lineup. Obviously, it didnt work out that way

  3. Lol so you’re going to be the GM that JR finally lets spend some money again?

  4. They'll lean on "rebuilding" and "development" and add a few C level free agents, I'm sure 1 or 2 will be tagged with the "veteran leadership" tag and it will be another similar season to last. And in some regards, based on where this organization is at, plus the upcoming CBA issues...I can understand that general philosophy to a degree. There isn't one free agent name that screams "this guy would be a perfect addition, they must do anything in their power to sign them" But, as a fan...we're entering the 4th season in a row where the there is virtually no path for the team to even play .500 ball. I'm tired of that, and want to see them make a real effort to improve. Signing a 31 year old Cedric Mullins and a 32 year old Ryan O'Hearn doesn't really accomplish that for me. But I know not to expect anything significant, they've given no indication of that.

  5. Lol do you think you have secret access to the bank and you can just give out a contract without your superiors rubber stamping the expenditure? Lmao

  6. Yeah, we need to first get past the idea that the Sox would be the leading offer to any of these guys, then we could talk about their chances vs other teams in that scenario. When you suck AND you won't spend? Well that is how you end up with a free agent list that looks like an old folks home for utility players.

  7. Old man with dementia and Twitter is a dangerous combination. Bruce LeVineLine’s tweets have long been filled with funny misspellings and other utter hilarity.

  8. It’s so funny to me that he always adds “Wh” before Sox. Just say Sox or WSox lol. Nobody thinks you are talking about Boston

  11. This organization has been dumping on it's own fan base for decades. From JR, to Kenny Williams, Don Cooper, Hahn... even Garfien.

  12. Agreed. It's hard to disagree with the approach if they're on this 5+ year plan to become competitive. We're heading into Year 4 and they may lose 100 games again, probably 90 if it's better. I think White Sox management is getting away with not putting all resources into turning these around much quicker in the city of Chicago. This is crazy. They want to be thought of as some small market team with little resources. They're happy to play the fans as fools and not commit to building a team that can win and compete in a winnable division I'm a Sox fan, but it's hard to be treated like an idiot.

  15. Jersey game was one of the most frustrated I've been all year. Not about the team at all or how they work. -I never expected to win, New Jersey is a better team right now and the Hawks were without 3 key pieces. The game started great, but it was tough sledding in the 2nd and 3rd -Jersey were acting like jagoffs running our guys. The Dillon guy needed someone to address him. I know enforcers are no longer really a thing, but come on man. This isn't the first game I've seen this and won't be the last. -I despised what Blashill did in the OT. Toward the end he had two D-men out there, CLEARLY playing for the damn "shootout point". The skills competition is a crap shoot, but I guess Blashil wanted to try. This team doesn't need to do that. This team needs to PLAY HOCKEY. Cut that s%*# out. Put the players out there and try to win. This season is about building foundational moments for next year and the year after. -2nd period. I'll chalk it up to coming home from a pretty good road trip and having a quick shot of octane then just kinda running out of gas. Still it seems the 2nd Periods have been an ongoing problem. -What a goal by Lafferty. Kudos to Slags for also getting a goal. Knight insane again, Crevier looking good. Turnover in OT aside I love Moore, keep him in there, let him grow, keep giving him those important minutes.

  16. Acquiring a lower tier and less desirable free agent 1B like Ryan O’Hearn is living in a White Sox offseason reality. Meanwhile, talking about these guys is living in a White Sox offseason fantasy world… Naylor Alonso Framber Schwarber Murakami Let’s at least try to be realistic about a White Sox offseason in which the GM himself insinuated that he won’t be spending much money in free agency.

  17. Honestly what Getz said doesn't surprise me. I don't see how anybody could have expected anything different and if Levine is right for once, if they do move Robert the payroll could be embarrassingly low. But I'm sure JR isn't losing any sleep over that factor.

  18. Apparently you would only last as Sox GM for a day then. Remember how Hahn held a press conference when he described looking to hire a manager that sounded exactly like AJ Hinch? And then Jerry said hold my beer and cigar, Rick. I’m hiring my old buddy TLR? Yeah…

  19. What if he did, but Naylor's agent told you to sod off, and don't call again until you have a winning team, because Naylor wants to be in the playoffs, and Seattle's going to top your offer anyway? And then, when you checked in on Pete Alonzo, his agent said the same thing? Then Framber's people, Kyle Schwarber's people and Murakami's people all told you roughly the same thing? Would you then have a Plan B beyond "Spend as much money as it takes to sign all the best players"? Because that's literally the first thought every single person has when thinking about putting together a winning team.

  23. Feel like if you’re going to add a regular every day 1B, you gotta deal an infielder since that’s a spot guys like Sosa and Vargas would get at bats.

  24. 29th in revenues Bottom 6-8 tv contract (for now) 27th attendance the national tv shared media money isn't nearly on the level of the nba no revenue sharing subsidy as a so-called large market team all the profit is in parking food/beverage souvenirs and corporate sponsorships??? Ohtani generates more for the Dodgers in LA and Japan...

  26. They'd have an increased likelihood they'd get traded to a contender. But Giolito is not coming anywhere near the Sox. Jerry is never going to bring back the team's former MLBPA representative, and one who they squabbled with over Arbitration.

  27. He’s on the Crochet path. The Sox will slowly turn him into an ace just in time to trade him to a contender.
