  1. Yes, really important to enjoy the ride. We have no idea what the future holds, but with BJ in the fold, seems like this could be the start of something really fun. Historically, the ride up to the top is always the most enjoyable, when the team comes out of nowhere and puts together a great season. Next year, there are going to a lot larger expectations from the Bears, and rightfully so. Expectations always change. But everyone will be more critical because of the heightened expectations. And given that the Sox, Blackhawks, Bears and somewhat Bulls are the teams I root for...it's been a long time since we've been 2/3 of the way through a season and we're looking ahead at the playoffs. Been incredibly refreshing and can't wait to see what this team has in store for us the rest of the year.

  2. Sox with a 51ish% chance at top 2, about 69% for top 3. Nice.

  3. Pitch clock is the best thing to come out of his tenure. Makes games so much better.

  4. Think a split would be fine, just don't get embarrassed in either of the games (which I don't think they will) If they lose Sunday, take care of business next weekend vs. the Browns. Then beat the Packers at Solider the following week. That gets the Bears to 11 wins, and if they can't make the playoffs after winning 11 games, I'm not even going to be upset.

  6. The Manfred Man on 2B in extras is his legacy for me and I hate that more than the Nationwide Jingle.

  7. Tigers To Sign Drew Anderson December 5th, 2025 at 5:40pm CST • By Darragh McDonald The Tigers and right-hander Drew Anderson have agreed to a deal, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. It’s a one-year pact with a club option for 2027. The salary figures haven’t yet been publicly reported. Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports that the Tigers expect the righty to be a starter, as he has been doing in Korea for the past couple of years. The Tigers have a 40-man vacancy and won’t need to make a corresponding move.

  9. Shared because you would assume Sox are in the mix in some trade talk.

  10. I'm convinced Robert needs to be moved in order for Getz to keep adding to this team. That $20M is likely taking up whatever pathetic budget Getz has to work with.

  11. Do they have a failed former top prospect who never panned out? How about an over the hill utility player? Maybe both??

  12. The tax angle is so overblown. No one went broke paying taxes on profits. JR sold properties and paid taxes to build the wealth that allowed him to buy a portion of the team. Imagine yourself saying please don't give me that $1,000,000 because I'll have to pay $300,000 in taxes or not selling your house at a profit to avoid paying taxes.

  13. if the White Sox have a favorite aisle at the Dollar General -- it's Guys Who are Willing to Try Another Fastball. Smith and Gómez were able to reinvent themselves in the second half by adding a two-seamer, while Cannon and Burke are hoping to iterate on late-season revelations with theirs. New pitching coach Zach Bove also referenced the Royals having recent success by expanding arsenals and introducing more fastball shapes, with Kris Bubic making more use of a sinker and rookie Noah Cameron throwing more cutters serving as examples Great, somebody tell this to Thorpe.

  14. This - a split goes a long way to getting Bears in the playoffs. A sweep and things get a lot tougher, cause they need at least 2 wins. A sweep and I think division becomes legit opportunity. I'm very nervous going into this - but so excited Beras are at this point and I think we have to remember there can be some growing pains as they now work on trying to really beat the very good teams in this league. With that said - lets go!!!

  15. The Bears were one blocked FG from sweeping GB last season. I wouldn't be shocked if they sweep them this season but I would be content splitting with them again, each winning at their own house.

  16. Baty was actually good last year. If they were willing to deal him for Robert, you take it 1 for 1

  18. These guys spend so much money on teams, yet they claim they can’t make any money so they don’t even try to compete, and refuse to sell. Something doesn’t add up. Accounting tricks help them cry poor. Mark Cuban had to say he only made a profit 2 seasons with the Mavs, because that is what the tax returns say and he knows the current administration would love to charge him with something.

  19. I'm with you on Baldwin. I just love the underdog everyone keeps wanting to pencil into a superutility role. Screw that, we need more speed , lefties (SH) ,OF's & power. The defense will get better with more reps and coaches in his ears.

  23. Unclear why there's so much negativity on Antonacci. Producing really well at AA and now AFL. Completely unheralded and cost the White Sox no more than a 5th round selection. His ceiling might be solid MLB regular? Oh no!! Good organizations should produce guys like that. He's certainly fitting a "type" from the Getz era in terms of making great swing decisions but lacking power. I see it as a possibly-smart approach by Getz to look for players with great approaches at the plate when you're in a situation with no perfect players available. Frankly, good swing decisions might be even harder to teach than power hitting.
