  1. Literally nobody has ever said it's an important stat that has any sense at all. It's a fluke. A team has never been able to consistently outperform their talent in 1 run games outside a one season sample. I don't mind you as much as others here but you consistently post some of the strangest "gotchas". Like who are you digging at here? Can you not just enjoy the improved team as much you seemingly do without trying to constantly instigate off nonsense?
  2. I'll probably have more comments later but for now:
  3. This fuckin hippies hair was getting me triggered, glad we got a run off him
  4. I think Hill has at least earned himself a start the next 2 days. Especially against Bubic on Thursday.
  5. Hudson inspires more confidence closing than Dominguez.
  6. We are witnessing A Miracle On 35th Street. This is going to be one of the great seasons on the Southside of Chicago!!!!
  7. You were miserable for most of it!
  8. 4 points
    Teel 2 run bomb.
  9. The boys win again. What else is new?
  10. There's a lot to be excited about. I dont think anybody expected the Sox to be here in mid May. I am enjoying the ride
  11. Back to back comebacks for win #20! Last year's 20th win was on 6/5, to get to a 20-43 record....This year's team gets there with less than half of the losses. Their 3rd win vs. KC matches 2025's total (3-10). CLE won so no game gained, but DET losing buys a half game for 2nd. Still in the last WC spot. Fedde did the vet thing and settled down for a solid 5 after the 2 HR first inning. Wish he got the win. Hudson extends his scoreless streak, this time with a save. Hell of a game for Derek Hill and solid offensive production even without the big guys chipping in much.
  12. Took Sox 63 games to win 20 last year
  13. Yup was just thinking that. We have enough solid players (Meidroth, Romo, Fedde for tonight) that sometimes you win without the studs doing anything. That is a sign of org progress without question.
  14. Nice winning with Murakami and Montgomery doing nothing
  15. I think we are back in - Make a winner game thread territory
  16. Strahm's eyes went full Kash Patel watching that Hill HR
  17. god damn Grant Taylor has been overrated so bad by this board
  18. Went to get a six pack came back to 5-2. Don't threaten to make me do it again Sox.
  19. I don't think anybody said directly it is an important stat (I even tried searching but didn't find anything), but being that it was posted each time, with an updated counter, I can see how WE would believe those posters thought it was important. The 1 run record/7th inning blown games in 2024 was just another indictment of how bad that team was, so I don't see the big deal in posting it. Same thing we were/are doing with shutouts, we even have memes for it. Also, to give Lip credit he has been posting a counter of the POSITIVE side of this too this year. Not trying to fence sit I just think this is an unnecessary argument. Way bigger fish to fry. Lets get another series win and keep the momentum going into the Cubs!
  20. Sure. "being happy" is going back to every argument you lost over the last few years. Stop trolling.
  21. The default changed, you have to change it in your personal settings.
  22. fandom is wild. about once a week at middle age I get dialed into this s%*# when the team is decent like I'm 12 again. Sox have some reasons to be cared about again.
  23. Fun being interested in them winning again
  24. does @joejoesox only post when bad things happen?
  25. We had an off day yesterday. Newcomb pitched one inning on Sunday, he should have been the guy to pitch the 6th
  26. Sox did a good job cycling through catchers to find him.
  27. I know im late to this but WTF is Venable doing letting a journeyman lefty face a RH bat with Taylor up and ready. STUPID May have lost a game because of that
  28. I’ve kind of wondered if his is more of a focus thing. I think sometimes he knows his stuff is so good that he just kind of seems lackadaisical a bit, but when you watch that at bat against Witt you see him locked in. It’s like when he knows there’s no room for error he just looks more locked in from the start of the at bat as opposed to I know my stuff is better then you so I’m just probably going to get you out.
  29. I thought Stone was basically saying that Venable messed up, but without saying it directly. “Venable tried to stretch using Taylor in a later inning and got burned…”
  30. “Baseball is a game of millimeters.”
  31. Hey look at that, the game wasn't over in the 1st inning!
  32. Ant is playing great ball. Murakami though really racking up the strikeouts
  33. Really seems like the Sox took the wrong approach tonight from pitch 1. Way too aggressive against a guy that isn't in the zone enough.
  34. I’m more impressed that Kay and Fedde are somehow keeping them in games.
  35. Steve "Nostradamus" Stone strikes again
  36. Who the heck wants to trade for Mike Trout? That would be literally one of the worst possible moves this franchise could make.
  37. Man I was so so wrong about wanting to keep him. Wishful (delusional) thinking he would finally put it together and have a healthy stretch of star seasons.
  38. “When you get older, other people's opinions won't matter to you as much.“
  39. Feels like a big series, hope we can at least take 2 of 3.
  40. Preller and Padres scouts obviously knew a bit more than Hahn and Sox scouts. They knew that Shields was absolutely burnt toast and got back the best player in the trade.
  41. I've been told this is a really important stat. Nobody refers to it this year. I'm not sure why.
  42. 2 points
Dodgers just have so many resources it doesn't even matter if they cut him in two weeks. They probably have a dozen 17 year old latin or asian guys of similar stock.
  43. He can technically get one already since he has appeared in the majors with the Sox (if you're making a joke about the Sox winning it all)
  44. Well lucky you. Not all of us can afford a fully loaded 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee from South Oak Jeep Dodge Ram & Chrysler.
  45. Yeah, because he's a free agent before it becomes Ishbia's watch, he can 100% guarantee it
