White Sox projected lineup announced MLB.com
I still think Quero makes the team. Drury as dh would make sense too. I know there's an argument he's "blocking people" but they'll be enough opportunities to go around. If Drury regains form no reason not to utilize that and maybe, maaaybe try to win a few more games.

Sox sign Brandon Drury and Tristan Gray
Seems a lingering hamstring issue could've contributed to the drury down year. I actually really like this. We have a few decent bounceback candidates which could be fun to watch.

I Miss Baseball
I miss meaningful White Sox games past April 6th.

Soxfest back for 2025
JR couldn't have been there more than a minute. As soon as multiple fans started to squawk he was gone.

Soxfest back for 2025
Yes. I thought that sucked too. A bunch of people brought baseballs. We brought one. Couldn't bring em in. I saw a guy at the door with a whole bag of baseballs he wanted to get signed get told he had to leave them or put them in his car. My little guy just got the poster they provided signed.

Soxfest back for 2025
Some notes from tonight: Whoever said not kid friendly got it right. I brought my 7 yr old who enjoyed it anyway but having the kids location separate was not smart. Theres not really much for them to do and i felt like i observed other disappointed parents. This format works better for a smaller event and it was fine but nowhere near what it had been in years past. The "state of the Sox" seminar was very uncomfortable. Chris didn't have the balls to get up there so he loses points. The group gave a lot of cliche statements about playing hard, improving fundamentals blah blah blah. A lot of antsy people wanted to ask questions but instead shriffen and stone asked "fan" questions from pre selected cards. Here's where I give Scriffen a lot of credit. He saw this wasn't working and went to the audience for questions. There was no mic so he repeated them. Some okay, nothing super pressing, but props to him for getting a few legit questions. Jerry made an appearance from the balcony to watch. As soon as a handful of fans caught that and started chanting to "sell the team" he bolted. And the seminar was cut at about 30 minutes as they stated they ran out of time which was crap too. The meet and greets were the only thing that I thought worked. My son was pumped to get his first autographs and we legit walked right in and out with some of our younger players. This format will not work if this franchise ever draws legit interest again. Nice restoration though.

Soxfest back for 2025
I agree with that. A no-brainer would've been to just celebrate 05 as the main focus. Has there been any schedule of events released? Or is it just gonna be a mess? I feel i know the answer. Disregard I see it now. Not sure how a random band playing is relevant to Sox fans but alright.

Sox sign IF Bobby Dalbec to minor league deal, NRI
I don't hate this

Would we be
All I'm sayin. Ive got two young kids who love baseball. But the Sox have only moderately held their attention. I grew up in the early 90s watching my family live and die with every pitch. Id like to share that with them before they get tired of the shittiness and move on to other teams. This crap is having a much bigger effect on the long term fanbase than Jerry realizes. The hell with down the road. Our last rebuild was interrupted by an f'n pandemic. Who knows what 5 years brings. I want watchable baseball from my favorite team.
-
Would we be
Long term consequences....like 3 consecutive 100 loss seasons? Having to constantly look 5 years down the road for a watchable team? I'm fine with the consequences. Sign real major leaguers.
-
Would we be
But.......they don't rebuild the right way. They're not gonna build a team that gives 5 consecutive division titles and a ws. They're just not. So rather that a s%*# rebuild and losing 100 a year, how about a s%*# rebuild and they have a .500 team that might luck into a playoff spot? One deep, total rebuild was enough. Spend some money and give a palatable product.

White Sox agree to 1 year deal with INF Josh Rojas
They blew what.....30 saves last year? Maybe an all star closer? Just sayin....it doesn't have to be as hard as this franchise makes it.

White Sox agree to 1 year deal with INF Josh Rojas
All of this right here brother

Later in 2025 season - Schultz and Hagen S. as MLB bullpen pieces
I wouldn't necessarily be opposed. Although going from starter, to bp, to starter doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. There is no "need" for this. Id rather they just come up and start a handful of games at the end of the season. The first half may be abysmal again, but the second half could be fun if we see C montgomery, quero, teel, smith and schultz all up.

White Sox Projected Rotations
You forgot Sasaki.

Crochet Traded to Boston
If you double up with Teel/Quero splitting time catching and DH'ing that's a nice solution. I love both bats. I wanted Montgomery back in July so love that they got him. This is a nice deal.

Braden Montgomery included.

Does a Teel acquisition make it more likely Quero trends towards DH eventually?

Max fried to yankees
Sweet. Start sweating Red Sox.

Kopech: Dodger trade was a blessing
If I'm playing Major League Baseball for a living 100 percent yes I am. If I sell insurance no. Highly false equivalency.

Sox sign INF Nick Maton
Ah.....our #2 target. Nice.

Juan Soto to Mets. 15 years/765m
Clearly. He should be here, squabbling with other posters about Austin Slater instead.

I imagine The Ramova is faaaar cheaper than the Hyatt or Palmer House.....which is your answer regarding venue change. Looks like the kids portion is in an entirely different location which is ridiculous.

Soxfest back for 2025
I never thought there was anything wrong with how the event was structured in the past. Those who wanted to seek autographs did so, those who wanted to attend seminars did so, and you could walk through sales and attractions throughout. This change seems like it'll be messy and less structured. Kinda like the roster construction so I suppose it fits.

Often times, those you are referring to as 2nd or 3rd tier players turn into dependable everyday players. Something quite frankly we haven't had in right field in over a decade. And as stated often times high ceiling players don't reach that ceiling. It may be coaching, circumstances, injuries, lack of development or any number of reasons. I'm not suggesting they don't aspire to acquire those high ceiling guys. However someone like Abreu who has shown mlb success, built a nice reputation amongst Boston fans, wouldn't be someone to be disappointed about in my opinion. Again, so long as he's not the centerpiece....I don't think he will be.
