  1. This is one of my biggest complaints about TL's lineups. When a lineup is playing dead...mix it up. I remember Leo Derocher drawing the names out of a hat to determine 1 through 9 in order to wake his team up. It's not like a lot of damage can be done to a team scoring 1 & 2 runs per game.
  2. Very true that we could use some "eye of the tiger" attitude. The team has that laid back...let's not worry...we'll get them next time attitude on display way too much. Relaxed is fine but the I don't really care attitude is very annoying.
  3. Moncada has this same look at times.
  4. Even the biggest cynic will have to admit he has looked really good in his two appearances.
  5. The smartest guy in the room syndrome.
  6. Kopech is more likely to reach that playoff-caliber than Gio IMO. Lynn is the must-get-it-together guy IMO.
  7. We are very good. Maybe not Yankee/Astro's good...but you never know what injuries and setbacks the other guys are having at playoff time. Get to the playoffs and have momentum and a little luck. Starting pitching will ultimately decide our fate and that is looking up lately.
  8. I agree he has looked outstanding. Obviously, the piece we needed.
  9. Gio deciding to go fat has been a bust.
  10. A rebuilding team can afford guys like Burger, Sheets, Lambert, Martin, and Zavala. I wasn't suggesting we were going to trade all the people from both sides. You already admit that Givens and Robertson qualify. My bet is Happ and Contreras would come up in discussions as well. Hendricks is very "dreamy" compared to Q if I am trying to win a few extra games. My "dreamy" remark is because I have doubts we have the right pieces for that transaction. Overall my primary point is the Cubs and WS make reasonable trading partners.
  11. My hunch is the WS and Cubs will put something together. Interesting players on the Cubs include Contreras, Happ, Givens, Robertson, and in my dreams Hendricks. The WS have Sheets, Burger, Crochet, Lambert, Martin, Ruiz, and McGuire as nice pieces for a rebuilding club.
  12. Not good news. I thought he was expected back in September.
  13. Bummer and Lopez getting back on the field will help immensely.
  14. Keep Eloy, Robert, and Juan on the field...the results will take care of themselves.
  15. Not long now boys. I think we will be in first by the end of the week.
  16. Earl Weaver knew how to manage. Probably my all-time favorite. If you were a regular player you were on the field or in the hospital. He didn't try to overthink it.
  17. Leury is out of tonight's lineup. Might be something like Moneyball when the manager insisted he was going to play the first baseman.
  18. I would be more intrigued with 2 or 3 openings but 1 is a start.
  19. 2022 White Sox...Potential without leadership.
  20. The bullpen was where RH spent the off-season money. Didn't get much for his money IMO.
  21. Whenever a pitcher walks around the mound and slows the game to a standoff...he just plain looks afraid to throw the pitch. Lopez was a huge delay in the game type until someone got through to him. When Graveman started that stuff today...I knew we were toast.
